Working on the page proofs for my second novel, One Ordinary Day At A Time, published by
@HarperFiction
in June 2021 😀 A modern day Educating Rita meets About A Boy with a side order of dark secrets, French fries 🍟and Charles Dickens. I can't wait to share it with everyone!
My son and I shovelled up a dead fox from our garden - it broke as we tried to get it into a bin bag and hundreds of maggots spilled out. The sight! The smell! I was also squirted with what can only be described as "death juice". Council collected the body bag. But we are both
@margotwood
This happened to me - someone I'd thanked went on to bully me and made my hardback publication utterly miserable and stressful. I got the publisher to remove their name from the acknowledgements' page for the paperback...
COVER REVEAL! 😍😍
Jodie is a homeless, single mum who dreams of studying English at Cambridge. Simon is a former child genius and ex-Cambridge student now working at Prince Burger. When Simon tutors her for the Cambridge exam, dark secrets threaten their futures. Out June 10!
@sarasheridan
I was mistaken for a "coat carrier?" at a literary event - the very well known agent dumped her coat in my arms and told me she wouldn't wear a badge. I mean, like OK, I was just there as a guest...but sure, give me your coat and decline a badge 🤣🤣
Had a fab

Husband and I have freaked each other out with our overlapping dreams. He dreamt he was having a nightmare about a violent ghost in the bedroom and saw himself in the dream, waking up and checking the alarm clock – it was 12.50am. He says he woke up properly just before midnight
Received my copies of

Imagine Sunak's horror when he turned up as a pupil at Winchester College and discovered there wasn't a big Sky dish stuck on that wall either 😓
So exciting!

After hearing that Saoirse Ronan has got married I thought I'd share my story of her meeting my husband in 2018.
He got very excited when he recognised her in Dublin Airport, not long after my first novel, The Colour Of Bee Larkham's Murder, came out. He decided to present her
LOVED the incredible
#AnnaO
@Matthew__Blake
It's a terrifically dark and twisty thriller that's ingeniously plotted and impossible to put down. This book will deprive you of sleep until you get to the end! It's a sure-fire hit for January 2024
@HarperFiction

Blown away by the support I've received for this post. Sorry I haven't been able to respond to everyone individually. But thank you all for your kind wishes about my dad. It's greatly appreciated and means a lot ♥️

Stayed up late to finish it! It really is a stunning masterpiece and one of the most original books I've ever read. Highly recommend 👏👏👏
Had a parents' meeting at my son's school about an upcoming water sports activity holiday. Tried hard not to laugh during the Q and A. My top two favourite questions were: "How wet will they get in the sea?" and "If they're taken to hospital will we be expected to visit?" 🤣🤣
@bendavis_86
Not an intro, but I was doing an author workshop at a primary school. At lunch, a little boy asked who I was and what I was doing at his school. When I told him, he sighed heavily and said: "Well, hopefully, next time we'll get Jeff Kinney." 🤣🤣🤣
Finished

A big thank you to Richard and Judy for including

I know one of his old teachers from Winchester College. They said that during dinners most boys used to try to avoid sitting next to a teacher. Everyone except Sunak who always liked to strategically position himself next to the seat of power.
I've been in the mood for thrillers recently and thoroughly enjoyed
#TheHoliday
@TMLoganAuthor
and
#Sleep
@callytaylor
- both were cleverly crafted, beautifully written and had twists I didn't see coming. Couldn't put either book down. Highly recommend both 😀👏👏
My new book

- I raced through it this weekend! It's Eleanor Oliphant meets The Thursday Murder Club with a quirky narrator who sees the world differently. Beautifully written, original and memorable with twists I didn't see coming - I couldn't put it down!
Finished a draft of my first ever YA thriller! It's not "the end" - the 2nd draft will need a lot of rewriting but it's such a relief to get this twisty plot and all the double-crossing characters out of my head and onto the page! Now for a glass of 🍷to celebrate! 😀
