पहाड़ की जनता सदा ही जागरूक रही है। चिपको की शुरुआत भी यहाँ की महिलाओ ने की थी। जनता को ही आगे भी सदा जागरूक रहना पड़ेगा। अब वाकई लगता है सब विकास टूरिजम से संबंधित ही है। इस बाबत हरियाली, इकोलॉजी, नदी, नाले प्रभावित हों तो कोई बात नहीं।
ये दिव्य देवदार के वृक्ष तुम्हारी पार्टी के उसूल नहीं हैं जो हर दिन बदल जाते हैं और जिनकी तुम निस्वार्थ सेवा कर रहे हो।

संस्कृत में पलाश का नाम 'किंशुक' भी है। शुक कहते हैं तोते को। तोते की लाल और नुकीली चोंच जैसी आकृति के कारण इसका नाम हो गया किंशुक। किसी ने पूछा-
