I feel like I need to clarify what I wrote in my review about Tekken 8’s netcode because some are taking it the wrong way. A lot of people not realising that I go on to say it’s better than Tekken 7’s, and when it works it’s *super* smooth sailing.

At the end of the day, if you're cherry-picking your matches à la Tekken 7, you won't have an issue. My review comes as someone who accepted every single online game to get a bigger picture of what versing opponents across regions/connections was like. Obligatory YMMV!!

But my personal experience going against Wi-Fi and players outside EU was not good.
Rollback in 3D games is always going to be harder to implement because there are so many moving parts. But at the very least I expect better stability with Wi-Fi folk. (2/4)

Like I said in my review, I was dropping some inputs in 4 bar matches in other regions, which was a shame.
I had two days to play online during my review and that’s just how things went for me. I hope it’s a better experience at launch. (3/4)

I've sunk 40 hours into Tekken 8 so far and it's genuinely bloody fantastic. The only thing that held it back from the big 9-0 was that netcode is still a bit scuffed and customization feels genuinely horrific to navigate.

Had a ton of fun reviewing Street Fighter 6, especially as someone who tends to gravitate towards 3D fighters instead. It’s a fantastic, near-perfect game, but be warned World Tour does not run great and there’s a 🚫battle pass🚫
Street Fighter 6 has Capcom back on top form with a colourful, bombastic fighting game that doesn't take itself too seriously.
