ThinkPads are better. Never been a huge fan of mini Desktops. Power fluctuations. And i3 is just outdated, atleast i5 is relevant. Even if it's an additional cost, a low end ThinkPad T series will be a better use of money.

Get it if it's an external battery and get an extra battery from somewhere. You can also add RAM/SSD, and it'll work superb. Intel i5 with the -U flag (underclocked) will work well for non-tech things. I myself got a T480, works so well. Get it ! Thinkpads are the best.
