A perfect example of why historical accuracy is just not that important in Assassin’s Creed. Yes it matters to an extent for world building purposes, but Assassin’s Creed is alternate history. It never was a history simulator, it just uses historical events as a backdrop.

PLEASE more people in the industry need to talk about how the AC series core identity has been absolutely butchered
God it makes me feel so validated when someone from outside the immediate AC community notices how far from the OG games it’s strayed.
Even if you don’t like the descriptor “it’s dark souls but open world,” it’s a strong indication that FromSoft is not abandoning the foundational fans of the series. We are still being catered to.
