OK. Blowing my own trumpet here but - yup I swapped a lot of meds around and did some deprescribing and boom - side effects gone and a housebound patient now out exercising.

Wish I could describe the atmosphere today as pharmacists, a pharmacy technician, nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants and volunteers (including a policeman) worked efficiently together to deliver covid vaccines to some of our most vulnerable elderly.
This is teamwork. ❤️

Just phoned a local pharmacy re a patient to share a care plan.
Honestly, you cannot underestimate the positivity that comes out of shared working between GP pharms and community pharms.
We all, especially the patient, benefit from shared working. 🥳 Pharmacist sounded ace too!

I am currently in Leeds sitting in my car outside a mosque.
My best friend (since age 11) invited me to an Iftar gathering, and I pretended I couldn't make it to surprise her.
I've driven two hours to get here - I can't wait to see her face! Haven't seen her in two years ❤️

On day 1 as a pharmacist in GP, I remember thinking to myself - 'I will never manage to diagnose and treat conditions by myself - I'm not cut out for this'
Today, 2yrs and 4 months on, I spoke to over 30 patients in the management of many different conditions, prescribing too!

Recently taught over 100 school children about things that pharmacists do. In fact, in the 6 sessions I ran out of time as there was so much to say.
At the end, many kids said they wanted to be a pharmacist. And why would they not? We're fantastic!

Was SO tired last night, popped for bread after work and there was none and then got to the carpark and couldn't remember where I'd left my car and had a little cry. Lots of people in pharmacy are under so much pressure that's building up, it's no wonder we are emotional wrecks!

Far too often encountered doctors who lack this. I was once working as a cmnity pharmacist and resolved a significant issue for a GP - he rang the pharmacy to thank me personally for it and it made my month to feel valued!

When I decided to do pharmacy as a career, I never envisaged I'd become so invested in the sector or care so much about a profession. I figured I'd just go to work, come home and switch off. Four years, a blog and a book later and I think I've lost the off switch 🤣

I've seen quite a bit of pharmacist bashing on social media in the last couple of days. The notion that pharmacists arent seen as healthcare professionals in 2021 is sickening.
I really feel we need some support to update the general public on what exactly pharmacists can do.

I'm seeing a lot of frustration suggesting that the movement of pharmacists from community into GP is causing staffing issues.
Ask yourself why these pharmacists wanted to move? What did GP offer them that community pharmacy did not? I moved and asked myself the same questions.

I was once described as 'incapable of working independently' and 'lacking in motivation'. I prided myself in my work ethic - was gutted and took it to heart.
4 yrs later, writing lots, in a job I love and an author.

Just spent 3.5 hours in a care home resolving their growing stress over medicines. It was great to have some time out of practices and i think my work today will hugely benefit relationships between GP, community pharmacy and the home. This is what primary care networking is! 🎉

It's our wedding anniversary today - without him (also a pharmacist), I'd not be a pharmacist today.
He drives me quite mad! I was just 17 when we met and he was already doing his degree. He went on to do a PhD and I used to sit, heavily pregnant doing my coursework in his lab.

I'm absolutely raging about this. I'd love to give whoever was involved in this decision a piece of my mind. So if I die in the line of duty, is this not equally as horrendous as if my friend who is a nurse did? We both have families and we both see patients. Disgusted.
Shocking that community pharmacists will only be covered by COVID-19 health assurance in 'exceptional circumstances'. Blatant disregard here for the danger pharmacists are putting themselves in day in day out during this pandemic

My GP DMP for my course agreed to supervise me when we had never met. I was new into the role and he didn't know what he was taking on.
When we met I confessed my confidence was rock bottom and I was debating on leaving pharmacy altogether.

Got a task this week from GP congratulating me on finding a diagnosis after ordering tests for a less obvious presentation.
It was a meds related adverse drug reaction and I followed a hunch. He didn't need to, I was doing my job, but it was lovely to be appreciated!

I'm genuinely saddened by some care that I've received in the NHS. Got a copy of my clinic letter detailing the surgery I have to have and there's more in the letter about my weight than the injury or the surgery itself.
