@TalkinBaseball_
He will regret this soon. He can think about it. He can talk about it with his teammates or coaches. But you never, ever say that publicly. Awful take.
@FarmToFame_
@TalkinBaseball_
The minor league regular season is almost over, there's not case for him to continue pitching. In the Development List he can work through a specific training program for him and manage his workload. It's just his first season as a pro.
@TalkinBaseball_
@JeffPassan
I still can't believe they actually did that. This going to be fun. Any team can change their playoff chances with some of this players.
@JeffFletcherOCR
The best player and an incredible human being. He has sacrificed everything for this game. Even with this injury and what it entails, Ohtani is still worth all the money.
@TalkinYanks
@Yahoo_JAPAN_PR
Everybody is going to offer more than Tanaka's contract record to Yamamoto. He is clearly one of the best pitching options in the free agency market this offseason.
@TalkinBaseball_
@eboland11
So this is a thing now? If these are clear moves to save money for luxury tax purposes, the MLBPA is going to demand a lot of explanations about it.
@Jake_M_Garcia
I can understand Kirby's frustration, but going out to publicly declare something like this it's crazy. It's not something you expect from a frontline starter. You always expect high competition, especially in the final stretch of the season. Very bad.
@TalkinBaseball_
@AROD
Who said it didn't matter? The fact that other metrics are used to measure different impacts and events in the game does not mean that BA is not taken into account.
@ShitBsbPlyrsSay
@baseballinpix
Wow, I remember how proud we were at DR, Danny, "Little Unit" Almonte was a phenomenon until we found out the truth. It was too good to be true 😪
@mikemayer22
I've tried to justify some of Buck's actions because of his experience in the game but this is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard. The most important thing for the Mets is knowing who can contribute in 2024 and beyond and that means playing their prospects.
@mikemayer22
I think that in the case of the Scherzer trade, it is more the credit of having Cohen. Without the fact of being able to absorb that portion of Scherzer's contract, they would not have been able to even mention Luisangel.

Scouting, evaluating, and projecting how a 16 - or - 17 years old boy will do in the future is hard, but this guy here went wrong on almost everything... "he was a disappointment to me." Just wow 🤦🏻♂️😑
@mattwandel42
@JeffFletcherOCR
Well, Nathan Eovaldi had the TJS twice and he has been pitching really well since, so you have a perfect example that pitchers can recover from a 2nd time TJS.
Is Francisco Lindor overpaid?
Using Fangraphs dollar values per WAR, Lindor should be making $43.35 million this season, given his 5.1 WAR. The
#Mets
are paying him 33.8 million (for luxury tax purposes).
#LGM
Hey
@StevenACohen2
I don't know if this is in your plans, but don't you want to give another press conference explaining your vision of the team in the short term after this sale at the trade deadline? There is a lot of speculation and confusion among the fans

OBP is a great metric, because it is true that the more you reach the bases, the greater your probability of scoring and therefore of winning. But obviously the BA tends to produce more. The point of advanced metrics is not to detract from other stats that were previously ignored
To all the people who followed me and participated in the giveaway for the Mets vs Angels game, I want to apologize since the account that made the giveaway was suspended.
I'm going to place the giveaway again where you just have to like that tweet to participate.
I have a feeling Tommy Pham will end up being traded to the Twins before the trade deadline passes. They are in need of a right-handed hitter with the ability to play the outfield

Algo queda demostrado, en RD carecemos de capacidades para debatir de forma profunda y abierta sin llegar a irrespetos, insultos e intolerancia. Es una pena.
La inteligencia emocional no está de más, hay que aplicarla.
The
#Mets
have the 9th worst record in the league. If the team were to start a losing path and fall to the 6th-worst record, they would secure that first-round pick in the next draft without being penalized an additional 10 spots under the new CBA
#LGM
@PitchingNinja
The Yo-Yo Curveball from Yamamoto combined with the Ghost Forkball from Senga would be the top 2 pitches in Whiff% next year. Mark my words.

Hate? I was actually talking good about him and how bad this is it after what Cutch has done in Pittsburgh this year🤷♂️
@NYPost_Mets
Why not go with Doug Melvin as President of Baseball Operations and Chain Bloom as General Manager? Best combination of experience, scout/player development and analytics
#Mets
@PSLToFlushing
@MLBPipeline
With Colton Cowser, Sal Frelick and others graduating soon, Ryan Clifford could break into the Top 100 leaving the
#Mets
with 6 prospects on the list.
@BleacherReport
It is highly likely that, even if is a partial tear, TS surgery would be the best decision. If so, Ohtani's free agency just got even more complicated. He would lose all of 2024 and there would be questions about when he could hit again. Harper came back quickly but each case is
The
#Mets
lineup I want to see moving forward:
CF Nimmo
2B McNeil
SS Lindor
1B Alonso
RF Stewart
C Álvarez
LF Baty
DH Vientos
3B Mauricio
Yes, Mauricio is better built for 3B. Baty should handle LF.

@WillSammon

The
#Mets
are focused on studying, developing, and improving their pitchers through Biomechanics analysis as Driveline Baseball has been doing for years. Eric Jagers, Mets Director of Pitching Development, is a former Driveline Baseball employee.
#LGM
The
#Mets
should lock up Pete Alonso and be creative with a fair offer before he hits free agency, something that can satisfy the needs of both parties.

@RisingAppleBlog
@SubwayToShea
My bet is that Cohen will admit that the team has been underperforming but that he supports Eppler, Buck and the rest of the team 100% and hopes that the team can make the playoffs 🤷♂️
If the Scherzer trade goes through, the Mets would have two rotation spots to fill next year and $43 million less in payroll because there would be no player option for Scherzer. That indicates the
#Mets
could go for Ohtani and Yamamoto in the next FA
#LGM
@mattwandel42
@JeffFletcherOCR
I can agree with that, either way Ohtani is good business. Great ballplayer, good clubhouse guy and a top 3 hitter in baseball so you can spend that money in a player who will give you a huge return in tickets and merchandising like him.
The
#Mets
need a top of the rotation starter this offseason and Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the perfect fit. He’s young, dominant and affordable. He’s the ideal signing for the Mets this winter but how much would it cost?
#LGM
@RisingAppleBlog
It’s time for the
#Mets
to be realistic. If things don't start to change, they should follow the 2016 Yankees trade deadline approach and reload for 2024
