I am proud to announce that I have been named associate program director for our hematology oncology fellowship program and will take over as Program Director at the end of the year. Hoping to see you during interview season!

The way things are now. Saying goodbye to my 96-year old grandfather who died of COVID yesterday by WhatsApp video call. Only 6 people in attendance in person (and socially distancing). RIP grandpa Moisés
It’s been a year. I saw COVID19 close-up, and came out well in the end. When I thought 2020 was over, it threw one last curve ball. My sister got ill and spent several days on a non-rebreather. Came out in time for Xmas eve dinner. My heart goes out to those who did not make it.
#ASCO18
is upon us! Here are our now classic ground rules about asking that question after a talk.

if you know the author, let me know, I’ve never been able to give due credit. If you’re doctor Vogl from NY you’re exempt (are you on twitter?)
Very proud that
#ASCO18
scientific committee chose our abstract for the plenary session and humbled that our study team selected me to be the presenter.
Mysteriously, sometimes, in the life of a clinical researcher, a miracle happens when you work day after day, year after year, and finally, the stars align and the results of a study you helped run leads to an FDA approval. Today, I was very lucky.
Very Proud and humbled to be recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Check who will be receiving the 2019 special awards in the link below.

Put a shirt, tie and jacket on for the first time in nearly for months to celebrate our

hematology and medical oncology fellows’ graduation. Congrats everyone
This is one of the most amazing public cancer education projects I have ever seen. This truck goes to schools and uses games and virtual reality to teach kids about cancer risk factors and prevention. Next step: kids will get awards if they get their family members to be screened
Walked into my office early in the morning to find balloons and other birthday decorations! Thank you everyone

14th day on ward service. Quiet Sunday morning. Eerie feeling that the storm will be here soon. We are ready for it and it will eventually blow over. Stay home and safe for those of us who are here to care for you.

One mask per day, seven days in ward team. Stupidly keeping them on a surface nobody touches and hoping that any virus on them might be dead if I need to go back to them. This makes no sense.
