Privileged to meet these ‘trespassers’ today who truly adore

and how it reminded them of north
#Pakistan
ended up sharing their

with them, which they cleared away after too 👌
Good morning
@bbcnickrobinson
@theJeremyVine
this is a short clip of my processed red meat factory in action.. please do me a favour and highlight the goodness of a balanced diet with fresh red meat factored into it. Also it’s positive impact on the environment
Dear
@Peta
, took my wool in today, it’s worth 35p/kg x 1 fleece
@2kg
av = 70p. It costs £1 a sheep to take it off. You see I take it off for animal welfare. I have never seen a shearer mistreat any sheep, so please stop misleading people
Every year we have 2 pairs of
#curlews
nesting on our farm and every year they are unsuccessful! This year, i’ve changed our silage fields and sectioned off the nests with electric fencing to give them a greater chance of success

Luckily the

wasn’t needed in the end!
Father in law fell off a ladder today, a fractured back and a collapsed lung, fantastic work from the

service. Diolch/Thanks

Ever since cattle have gone up to the mountain, our bird population has increased year on year.
I’m pretty sure they’re part of the solution not the problem for climate friendly nutrient dense food 🐃🐃

Today’s farming not going to plan involved a silly heifer that got a bit too overprotective of a lamb in a motherly way until she finally calved!

Technology is great until the 8 year old takes over as I’m apparently slow at inputting 😏I blame

for this! 😂😂 I’ll be surplus to requirements sooner than I thought 😢
Just a normal day on a hill farm, doing our bit to reverse decline in

@GeorgeMonbiot
where will these birds go if I remove the one vital ingredient in their success the humble ruminant? It’s all about balance isn’t it
@1GarethWynJones
Hi
@BenGoldsmith
,
Here’s a bit of my sheep wrecked national park I’m proud to call home, Eryri (Snowdonia) and also proud to work with the fantastic conservation team they have working there.
Happy to show you how wrong you are in your comments if you can make the time?
Rishi Sunak - "Northern Ireland is in the unbelievably special position... in the entire world... in having privileged access to the UK home market... but also the European Union single market... nobody else has that... only you guys" in Northern Ireland. 🤦
It's adding to the 20 existing trees with 150 trees and 1200 hedge plants. That should be 8100kg of CO2 out of the atmosphere in one field without compromising its food production ability.
Project nearly done (just reseed left): 7 acre field split back into two, one unproductive acre taken out for nature. Could not have done the planting without my helpers...
Thursday a cow had a difficult calving and didn’t get back up sadly, today I had a 4 day old calf just drop dead.
Things worked out but farming can be difficult and test you at times 😞

close the gates even if there is no footpaths there and take your bag of dog mess home, bloody pigs!

Trying for close to ten years to win the Meirionnydd grassland society competition with my silage until last night I came 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Today I’m quite smug about it! And yes there were more than 3 who entered 😂😂

Feel ashamed to be producing this factory farmed beef here Gar, just look at the lack of space they have!
One day they will realise that British farming is the answer to the
#ClimateEmergency
crisis we are facing.
#Sustainability
right here👇😃
One of the most satisfying noises of
#WelshBlack
cows converting grass into milk for future
@PGIWelshBeef
One of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly, nutrient dense products you could put in your diet.
Currently we’ve no agri-environment scheme, no organic scheme 😕
#NRW
have pulled the plug on the land management agreement we had on the SSSI, very short sighted approach! 🤦♂️
The weather is rubbish to say the least!
Feeling let down to be honest.
Few things we’ve done⬇️ 🙂
After 4 days of looking on foot/quad & drone I find my three missing cows in an absolute maze of peat gullies next door!
@RSPBCymru
whilst looking I came across around 30 golden plovers numerous grouse and 6 hen harriers between Llechwedd Llyfn and the Gylchedd
#hillfarming
Glad to be up on the hill in pretty much
#isolation
doing some
#conservation
work for ground nesting birds as my local town of
#Bala
is full of fuckwits from all over the place with no care in the world!
#Covid_19
Always thought they were a scam! James who did his collage day release here just won all this for £12.99 😃
I’m a little bit jealous, just a little bit😏😂😂
Hi
@GeorgeMonbiot
here’s some proof in the pudding (data you always want) of what we do as livestock farmers is totally the opposite to your claims. You’d be welcome to come have a look.
1/2.

9. Increase tree pasture on open hills
In a nature & climate emergency native trees on the Ffridd are vital for:
✅Wildlife
✅Livestock
✅Flood reduction
✅Protecting carbon
✅Cooling headwaters

On my daily pilgrimage to check stock on the hill I see a huge interest in coming to see Capel Celyn re-emerging.
Some that lost their homes to the flooding of the valley still won’t go there to see it as it brings back memories of what they lost.

You don’t need to be super wealthy to buy a few acres and a farmhouse in the hills. This new business (which is not mine) is simply an estate agency for people of varying means who wish to play their part, exploring new land use models and restoring nature.
As darkness falls, I’ll go round closing the gates and pick up broken sleds and missing gloves. Part of me wants to throw them off and part of me enjoys seeing them having fun.
See you tomorrow,
Grumpyish farmer

grazing girls and boy settling in and a clear retest on a 60 day inconclusive TB reactor 😀 and a bloody chicken that has started to jump on my shoulder and lays her eggs in the strawchopper 🤦♂️😂😂
Taid’s 90th today, started farming with 17 acres in the 1950s. Grew his business until 2001 when he retired. A very keen golfer (two holes in one!) and a keen sampler of whisky 🥃🥃🎂🐃🐏🏌🏼
Some

heifers doing some habitat management/ maintaining landscape and becoming part of the breeding herd to produce food. Part of the bigger picture of what my animals do
Good to see
@wgmin_rural
supporting
@PGIWelshBeef
as a true sustainable food source. This cow spends her summer as a conservation grazer for the benefit of flora and fauna which is closely monitored by

whilst also producing sustainable

So ‘livestock’ farming will come to an end and we will be fuelled by supplements to replace what we naturally get from meat and dairy. A synthetic future that will damage our precious 🌍 a future not really worth looking forward to thanks to the likes of George 🤷♂️
On Wednesday (January 8th), our film
#ApocalypseCow
airs on Channel 4. It proposes that, after 12,000 years, farming will more or less come to an end within a few decades. It argues that this shift comes in the nick of time: it's great news for humanity and the living planet.
Just a normal Saturday night in
