If you read this panel and the first thing that comes to mind is "so Floch WAS right all along!", you understood jack-shit about what Attack on Titan was and what it stood for
"Attack on Titan should’ve never had romance" is such a weird-ass criticism, I don't even know where to begin. Imagine reading these two pages plus many more and then being surprised by the ending that love is important.
And remember kids:
Mikasa's arc being about love, acceptance, family, pride, warmth, having ties with multiple themes, subtle development, etc >>> Mikasa's arc being just "I need no man"
I don't know what happened to the AOT fandom during 139 that made them read everything so surface level and literal.
No, Eren didn't actually forget.
No, Armin didn't genuinely agree with Eren.
No, Mikasa didn't actually called a bird Eren.
It's 2021. Over 6 months since the ending. Mikasa's romantic feelings towards Eren have been obvious since the start and now we know Eren loved her straight back.
Yet people are still using the siblings cope.
I knew this fandom was lost when people believed that the only way for Mikasa to have development is removing the scarf or got mad when Armin tried to have actual conversations versus just murdering people.
People still using this face/line as a gotcha and I still haven't seen 1 valid argument on why it's bad other than the person hating the fact Mikasa is mentioned 🤣
Yeagerists and Redditors when 138 and 139 reminded them that love was one of the main themes of Attack on Titan after ignoring it for so long because it wasn't edgy enough:
Had this guy blocked but let's go through with this one by one:
- Mikasa accepted she was wrong about Eren in 123 and started to understand him more
- Historia wanted to live
- Eren didn't tell Mikasa BECAUSE he loved her
- See point 2
The funniest part about Anime Balls Deep and their video ('s thumbnail) is that before 139, they made a video that stated Eren is in love with Mikasa. Then they got mad when they ended up being right.
I swear, Isayama could have grown some balls and made Eren and Mikasa kiss in chapter 50 and people would still try to say "It's only romantic from Mikasa's POV. To Eren, it was a familial kiss."
"NOOOO, HE WAS BLUSHING AT EVERYONE"
The manga and anime made it so clear that everyone was looking in different directions while Eren and Mikasa were looking at each other, it's not even funny.
All this discourse cause people forgot the simplest thing to understand about Mikasa:
Be on her good side and she's the most loyal, protective and loving person you'll ever meet.
Be on her bad side and she'll make you wish ur dad wore a condom.
“You ending defenders are a bunch of pseudo intellectuals who gaslit themselves into loving the ending to cop-“
Nigga, you thought Mikasa lost all agency when Eren saved her, the Yeagerists were based and Historia was the centerpiece.
I’m just smarter than you.
This fandom is so delusional, Eren could straight up tell Armin "Nah dude, I love Mikasa. Like I'm so in love with her. I want her to dominate me in bed and name our daughter Carla and our son after you maybe" and people will twist it as "familial love" or "one-sided"
@Florenc41226953
Floch: represents everything the manga is against, people with his ideals are the reason why the world is so fucked up in the world
Yeagerists: WOW, HE'S LITERALLY ME!!1! KILL THEM TRAITORS!!!
I feel like not enough people talk about how meaningful this single page is.
We got three Eldians (assumedly not on Paradis) out in the open. No armbands. No instant hostility or dehumanization. Just them living life with every other race.
"Armin accomplished nothing" sure man
@LapisPhosfan
Hello, there. Sorry for wasting any possible time reading this mess of a rant. I am sick of hearing the claim that Mikasa is somehow not Eren's adoptive sister and that somehow their relationship was simply amicable and romantic in nature...
In a manga praised for it's realistic approach on human fragility, we see a middle aged woman down a trained soldier (3 missed gunshots btw) and survivor of suicide mission who carried a man over a 50m wall and it's praised solely because of the unlikeability of said character
@Grimmjowfan2
Nah, this is so cringe, I'll reply 2nd time:
-Mikasa put the blame for Eren's path on herself and wanted to end it
-She accepted her life and does the selfless, heroic thing
-Not an argument
-Completely realistic if you love someone that much
Reddit memes won't make u less dumb
The hate surrounding Mikasa is still the most insane and undeserved + genuinely depressing
It's even worse when her character is initially easy to understand and root for.
Can't believe I have to explain this but no, Eren and the Yeagerists are not the same. Eren never attempted to justify or glorify himself like the Yeagerists. He knew the Rumbling was evil and the outside world shouldn't have died.
@jetpistoIs
Disagree on random One Piece slander but the fact you just post the best part of Mikasa's arc and think you made a real argument is so funny 😹👎
@RisenLn
People still pushing 112 as Eremika's only interaction and pretend that they have no depth beyond "I've always hated you" to appease their bias
Yeah, AOT fans straight-up hate complex writing that requires actual thought.
That's why people think Mikasa getting rid of the scarf is actual development for her 💀
Floch's characterization is someone who talks a big game without actual merit.
That's why he tries emulating Erwin in his "shinzou wo sasageyo" despite Erwin being able to inspire people with charisma and loyalty whilst Floch has to use fearmongering, intimidation
"Man, Mikasa is so annoying. She's so obsessive about 'Ereh'"
Yeah, let's ignore her fear of loss/abandonment, the fact that Eren is an impulsive dumbass that always gets kidnapped/"killed", the fact she became less overprotective as the story progress, etc
@OGkakerukun86
- You only care about Ymir when it's about Erehisu
- Eren's being the father/ending up with anyone is a shit conclusion for him
- That conclusion does nothing for Ymir's character or her trauma
- Eren was loved
- Neither of them would be great people in this version
