I once messaged Tony Adams and asked if he’d consider talking to a group of men who were currently in rehab. I assumed he’d be very busy or, at a push, do it via Skype. He got a train up, instilled a load of hope in everybody, the headed back down south. No fuss. What a fella.
I don’t think my family, friends and those reaching out with love know quite what it means to me. Mental health and addiction issues can lead to the darkest of places, and you keep saving my life. Every day.

In the early 00s , there wasn’t a rehab in Liverpool. A residential one opened. For some, that wasn’t practical. Someone had an idea for a 9-5 one, where you could live at home. £’s were a stumbling block.
Kenwright donated 25k. Then the rest came in.
It’s still there today.

Me Ma is out of hospital. Ambulance brought her into intensive care earlier in the week. Had a really worrying couple of nights then she started to get better. She’s just testing at home now. God bless the NHS.

Here’s my brother, Jaqson. His autism includes selective muteness. He only really talks in front of people he knows well. He did this at me Ma’s wedding yesterday and I’m very proud of him 💜

Bumped into a lad I know, at the hospital last week. Not seen him for ten years. Ale getting the better of him. He broke down so I just gave him a hug and asked him to ring a phone number if he wanted help. Unbelievably, he did it. He just sent me this tonight. Seven days clean.

Just been reminded. My brother was born on this day in 1981. He died 3 days later. I’ve no recollection of this, as I was only 1 myself. I often wonder though, what would he have been like and would I still be the hardest brother?

Bumped into this guy earlier. Met him when I worked at
@BrinkLiverpool
. He was finishing detox and looking to engage in recovery services. He did. Got involved with The Brinks fitness group. Never ran in his life before. Years later, he’s still sober and now running marathons!

Just bumped into this cat in Sefton Park. I was in rehab with him 14 years ago. He’s sober, married, living in Leeds and acting in theatres. Had a lot of time for this fella. Made up he’s doing well.

Not an original ideas but...500 people donate £1 a month. Then give £500 a month to someone in need. Donors can nominate beneficiaries. People on UC/Struggling artists/kids who’ve had their bikes robbed/asylum seekers needing food, clothes etc. No middlemen. Who’d be up for it?

There are many things to praise about Jimmy McGoverns Time. I’ve only watched one episode so far. Using actors from Liverpool, with actual Liverpool accents (as opposed to telly ones), to play Liverpool parts gives it credibility straight from the off. It’s not rocket science.
