I managed to submit 2 papers , one rejected. I struggled to find time to to resubmit it. I rewrote a grant application (it was previously rejected but I still care) and I got yesterday a rejection. It does happen. Just keep trying, success is based on previous failures 2/3…

students present their work in progress and constructively discuss each other’s research. It was fantastic to do it again in person with cookies and coffee. And I learnt a lot.

And after this very convoluted journey it happens that I fly back to Europe the same day the UK is leaving the EU. I decided to become an academic in the UK, I became father in the UK. I am who I am also thanks to the UK, there is a British bit in me. It is a very sad day, for me
