These guys are both moving at the same velocity BUT with differing anim speeds. Finding a balance of these two values is a tiny thing that can make a big impact on how polished your player feels to control. Don't be afraid to adjust your animator speed!! ⏩

This was my first time animating in well over a year, so I was VERY rusty 😅 That said, my new character rig helped a lot! A big thing that worked with this new style too was opting for separated limbs instead of deformed topology (because I refuse to have pixel stretch lol) 🦊

's custom renderer pipeline to get some cool occlusion effects! Our lil tank shows up behind walls, and the tread tracks / tank shadow swap to a darker material if they pass behind shaded ground! Pretty neat!🔍

art test I was asked to 'reimagine the look/style of Minecraft for a hypothetical new game'. Instead of just doing concepts or something boring I went a bit overboard and just fully dev'd a Minecraft RTS prototype! 😅⛏️

Progress update on my level generator - now we've got water! Insanely efficient to make level design changes on the fly with this setup now. Gonna be ready to move onto gameplay very shortly! 👀

Each weapon prefab has an adjustable IK object that allows the offhand to be placed uniquely per gun. Also depending on what 'type' of weapon you pick up, the animator will swap between Rifle / Pistol layers for unique weapon stances, recoil etc.!

Here's another animation trick I've used in the past with AfterEffects! With a bit of cleanup after rendering, you can apply this to things like tentacles, chains, vines or anything with a natural flow-like movement to get some really nice smooth animation! :D

The white crosshair shows the 'corrected' path your bullets will take, and the different shaded circles represent regions where your aim speed is slowed to make it easier to come to rest on enemies mid-firefight!
