Internal communications provide a timeline showing that BC gov spent several days formalizing the approval of police resources to the Morice, just as the province was dealing with one of its worst climate disasters. My latest for @TheTyee . #bcpoli

Happy one-year anniversary to my quest for COVID data. 🥳 In a year, my FOI was shuffled from the Ministry of Health to BCCDC to Northern Health Authority, which directed me back to MoH/BCCDC. Come, join me @TheTyee for this dizzying journey… 1/8? (🤷‍♀️)

BC EAO recommended fines against Coastal GasLink back in Sept. The province said a decision isn't expected until at least later this month. Meanwhile, the infractions continued and a second recommendation is in the works. My latest for @TheTyee . #bcpoli

Interesting stuff @TheTyee : "Oil companies like Enbridge, Cenovus and Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. helped kickstart the Calgary Police Foundation in 2012 with million-dollar donations, and pipeline company TransCanada is an annual donor..."

RCMP framed yesterday's arrests as a rescue mission as 500 camp workers were stuck beyond the barricades. Coyote Camp is on a Morice FSR spur road and not blocking access to camps, only to a work site where CGL plans to drill under the Morice River.

Yet, three years in, somehow Coastal GasLink security doesn't appear to understand the very injunction it's there to enforce. In three years, has nothing been learned?

"They laid Delgamuukw to rest last week. The man, but not the name, which has been passed down through the hereditary system of Gitxsan governance for thousands of years and will be passed down again..." Great analysis by @Gillwave for @TheTyee .

#Wetsuweten hereditary chiefs wondering why they weren't informed earlier two diesel spills on their territory — one at a Coastal GasLink work camp and the other at the #RCMP detachment that was supposed to be removed in February. #bcpoli

BC United Party accusing political rivals of "gender-based violence" for using the acronym BCUP is just one example of why I'm still here.

The CAJ has verified numerous reports that the #RCMP have threatened to arrest #cdnmedia journalists at #Wetsuweten Territory for taking photos. We remind @BCRCMPMedia that Canada is not a police state. Police do not have the right to control what is published.

Oh, in the photo above, Chief Na'Moks had just strolled past the gate, and security, and we had all just followed. "You're all adopted for the day!" he joked. Elders and other hereditary chiefs were allowed to drive partway to the site with a CGL escort.
