My MIL had a cardiac arrest at home last night. She was gone just before we got there.
The kids were at friends, so I waited until they were home together today to tell them. Was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do as a parent. To watch my boys sob with grief was horrendous.

That was the most stressful day I’ve ever had. We don’t operate on kids at all, ever. But today had no choice. I work with some of the best humans that even under huge pressure, stayed calm, professional and got the job done with a positive outcome for our little friend.
