Would I watch it if they didn’t call it LOTR? No, I wouldn’t be interested at this point. I come back to watch it because of the lore its based on. While I respect positive opinions about it, the show deserves to have criticism too. It comes from a place of love for Arda.

I hope the good folks working on the show see this not as an attack on them, but as an outcome of what the show has lacked thus far, that those parts might be mended in future seasons. While the show bothers me from a lore perspective, it has a multitude of other issues.

This is gravely concerning for an original announcement that should have been an entirely wonderful thing for the fandom. As a fan of the fan-film myself, someone who grew up with it, and a fellow LOTR creator, this does not bode well for the fanbase. WB won’t stop with this.

The final episode of season 1 of

has aired. The writing both internally and as something that calls itself a Lord of the Rings project totally fell apart. It is an absolute disgrace, this episode, this show. Beyond a few interesting moments, it was atrocious. 😔

I absolutely love this fan-film. The heart, the themes, the atmosphere of Tolkien is all there, from the pure will, drive and passion of these fans. They had only a small fraction of the amount of money and manpower that ROP has, but this is far better.
