Craft beer specialist. Sales over the counter and click & collect or delivery to mainland UK from our website. Tuesday to Saturday 12 till 6, Sunday 12 till 4.
6 years ago I opened the door of Wee Beer Shop for the first time.
Fair to say it’s been a wild ride. Thanks to all customers, old and new, for supporting my wee business.
Here’s to the next six 🍻
Wee Beer Shop - more expensive than Beer 52
You might have seen this advert. Times are tough, I get that. However, we don’t sell beers that are brewed using cheap ingredients to fit a low price strategy and we don’t sell beers that are reaching the end of their life.

Back soon!
We don’t have a date yet, but we’ll be reopening at first for a click and collect service. Can’t wait.
Our stretch of Pollokshaws Road was looking a bit sad today. The shops were all closed up, but hopefully all our lovely neighbours will be open again soon too.
Thank you! We were blown away yesterday by your generosity. We recorded £2306 in sales and this morning I transferred £2306 to the Save The Children appeal to help children in conflict areas.
It’s been a quiet summer and start to autumn at Wee Beer Shop. I’m still swimming strongly but it feels like swimming against the tide sometimes. That’s no different to lots of small businesses though.

365 days ago right now I was sitting in a cafe waiting for word that our license had been granted and I could open the shop. It was granted and I'd just like to thank all our customers, suppliers & friends for their support. It's been a great year - here's to the next 365 days.
The secret is out. When I visited Overtone last month it wasn’t just to drink lovely beer.
We were super-pleased to be asked to collaborate on a beer with Overtone, and we wanted to make a sessionable West Coast Pale Ale.
This’ll be on sale on Wednesday. I hope you enjoy it.
We’ll be donating 100% of our sales on 1 March to Save The Children’s relief funds for Ukraine and Palestine. Over the counter, Click & Collect (collect when it suits you) and online for delivery.
Four years ago today we opened the Wee Beer Shop doors for the first time to host our first Wee Beer Session. Time has flown…
Thanks to everyone who has supported us since then 👍
We’re doing something entirely different to Beer52. We won’t join them in their race to the bottom, and condemn their suggestion that we and our suppliers are robbing anyone. Forget their confused message about shops and taps.
Anyway, that’s us open for the day till 7pm.

Five years ago today was the first outing for Wee Beer Shop, when we ran a pop-up bar for a couple of days before we fitted the shop out for retail.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us since then.
Mask on? Mask off?
I’d really appreciate it if you would continue to wear a mask when visiting the shop, for the peace of mind of everyone.
There’s only me (Niall) that works here - if I were to catch covid then I’d need to close the shop and I can’t afford to do that.
Five years. Count them…
On Friday 13 October 2017 Wee Beer Shop opened its door as a shop for the first time. Safe to say it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster since then and at times it didn’t feel like we’d manage five years.

We are delighted to be a finalist in the “UK's Best Independent Craft Beer Retailer - Single” category of the SIBA Business Awards. Supporting independent breweries is vital for us and we are pleased to have that recognised.
"Not only did we see a huge sixty percent increase in entries but the quality was genuinely astounding, with some truly inspiring businesses in the running."
Find out who impressed the Business Awards judges this year, Finalists list revealed below:
Wow, we’ve made it to our third year!
Thanks to everyone that has stopped by the shop in the last couple of years to buy a beer or have a chat. We really appreciate your custom.
We are open today, till 6, then we are off for a celebration. Here’s to the next year! 🍻
Glasgow Beer Works have partnered up with Partick Thistle to release a crisp lager and an easy drinking Pale Ale, perfect for celebrating Thistle’s road to the Championship this season.
Available for delivery, Click & Collect, or over the counter.
Happy birthday ... to us!
Yes, three years ago, 4pm on Friday 13th October, we opened our door for the first time as a beer shop.
Thanks so much to everyone that has supported us in that time - friends, customers, breweries and suppliers. We really appreciate it!
Cheers!
Wishing you a happy, healthy and relaxing Christmas, hopefully with some good beer!
This week has been a record-breaking one for sales, so thanks to everyone who spent hard-earned money with us this week, or any time this year. We really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Niall & Sandra
Bilko has published his long awaited video of his visit to The Laurieston. Well worth a watch and its especially poignant given the news this week that the pub is up for sale. It also contains footage of the roof of the pub that I’ve never seen before.
Our Glasgow delivery service is in a bit of transition. The service we have used for a few years has gone bust, a victim of the economic shitshow we’re living through, so we’re having to find alternative ways of getting the beers to you.

Hope our friends in London are safe and staying away from the trouble.
I haven’t commented on
#BlackLivesMatter
because the world doesn’t need another business virtue signalling and not adding anything to the debate, but for the avoidance of any doubt, fuck racism.
This weekend a year ago Wee Beer Shop opened its door for the first time, as a weekend pop-up bar. We had no idea how things would turn out, but I'm pleased to say its been great fun since then. Thanks to Sandra, Dave, and all our friends and customers for your support.
We’d rather sell beer that the brewers have used their imagination and craft for, and chosen the best ingredients to make the best beers they can bursting with flavour and innovation. We are proud of that.
The beers we sell are more expensive because they cost more to make.

Best wishes for 2023 from Glasgow.
I’d like to thank you for supporting our little business and buying beer from us in 2022. I appreciate how difficult things have been this year for almost everyone so its been doubly appreciated this year.
Happy New Year!
COVID update: Off licenses are regarded as essential retail and as such we’re permitted to keep trading.
We continue to do what we have been doing since lockdown was lifted, providing a safe way for people to buy beer. We’ve been really cautious and careful right through this.
I had an excellent afternoon at Overtone yesterday, trying some of their fresh new beers straight from these shiny stainless steel tanks in what I call the corridor of dreams!
When we reopen on 1 February we’re going to have a range of amazing new Overtone beers for you.
Is there a better dinner combination than pizza and beer?
Pizza from Good Stuff in The Cooperage across from the shop. Sean is slinging pies now for a couple of hours. Beer from Simple Things.
Walking up the road beer
One of the things I’ve taken from the last year is the need for a better work/life balance. I could have stayed at the shop hoping for some extra sales, but look at the weather.
Enjoy the sunshine when you can folks, both literally and metaphorically.
GOOD NEWS! Our website is open for business! First collection days will be next Friday and Saturday, so not this weekend. Order as soon you like - collect next weekend.
I’m really pleased with this - our Pale Ale collaboration with Overtone.
It’s got clean crisp citrus flavours, pine notes and a subtle spicy pepper finish. I wanted to brew a well balanced beer that you could drink pints of, and that’s exactly what this is.
Raising a glass of The Cone to Andi, Michael, Roddy & Connor, after the sad news announced earlier today that they are closing Top Out.
Top Out was one of the 1st breweries I spoke to when I was thinking about opening the shop. It’ll be a poorer Scottish beer scene without them.
Thanks to our friends at Fallen we are giving away a 500ml bottle of Chew Chew to everyone (while stocks last) who bring in a couple of items of non perishable food for our local foodbank.
This is very sad. Fallen were one of the first breweries I spoke to when I was planning the shop. One of the OGs. They brewed solid drinkable beers and although we sometimes disagreed about things I was always full of respect for them.
Sending best wishes to Paul and his team.
Congrats to Overtone for having brewed 100 beers.
We’re proud to have been one of the first two shops to sell their beer and they remain one of the most important breweries to us.
How many of the 100 have you drunk, and what’s your favourite?
Evening all. How’s the first week of lockdown been?
We’re both well, I’ve managed to get the garden weeded, done more cooking than I’ve managed for a years, and started watching Tiger King in the telly.
What are you drinking tonight?
Hope you’re all keeping well. Stay safe!
This week we are re-opening our counter at the door and will be open for walk-up sales. Hours are 12-3pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Please wear a face covering and if there’s someone at the door already please give them plenty of space.
This was a sad sight when I was in the city centre earlier in the week. A loss to Glasgow’s beer scene.
However, we were followed on Twitter the other day by
@Blackfriars_Bar
, so maybe it’s not dead and gone yet?

COMPETITION!
Friend of the shop and musical virtuoso Colin Currie visited us to pick up some Overtone and Kernel beers. He also gave me 2 tickets for the sold-out concert that he and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra are putting on in Glasgow next Friday, and you can win them.

I noticed several beer groups fall over each other yesterday for photos with Sunak.
He won’t get an opportunity like that here. He’s barred.
That’s me open for the day, till 6pm.
STILL HERE!
Although the shop is closed and we’re not doing face to face sales at the moment our website has been busy with orders that can be collected from the shop.
It’s been a really welcome lifeline when we thought we were going to be without any sales at all.
Waking up to reports of brutal, tone deaf, policing in London last night.
Wee Beer Shop stands in solidarity with all women who have experienced sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, sexual exploitation and domestic abuse.
I was overwhelmed by the number of messages, good wishes and ideas yesterday. I’ll try to respond individually if I can.
Some strong ideas that I’ll definitely try to implement soon, and with the help of my wonderful customers, keep Wee Beer Shop going strong.

That’s us closed for another year. Thanks to all friends and customers. We never take your custom for granted and appreciate every sale, and hope you enjoy Hogmanay and New Year with some good beer.
We’re closed now for a couple of weeks - we’ll be back open again on 18 January.
Old College Bar building on fire.
Still, silver lining, at least that hotel/student accommodation * development can go ahead now... 😡
Do buildings in the way of planned development in other cities mysteriously burn down?

That’s us closed for Christmas now. Thanks to everyone who came down this week and apologies if you had to wait a while to get served. We were crazy busy.
Enjoy yourselves, drink good beer and we’ll see you on the other side. Open again on Thursday.
Love from Sandra & Niall
Hint to sales folk. If you pitch up at my door trying to sell me something, and I’m wearing a mask, you’re unlikely to get my business if you don’t have one on too.
We’re still here...
Yesterday was a devastating day for the Scottish beer community. Big shout to everyone affected.
We are still open, with some restrictions. We’re not really changing what we’ve been doing - we’ve been really cautious and careful right through this.

Started working at 8 this morning, making up orders to be collected tomorrow.
Not even finished yet but having a break with an Overtone Tribute - soft and smooth IPA with a peachy bitterness at the end. Its hardly touched the sides - perfect with a barbecue!
Cracking meal last night at the Shish Mahal was followed by discovering our collab with Overtone, Way Out West, on draft in The Doublet next door. It’s as good on draft as it is out of a can!
This week has been the toughest since the shop closed. Just stress and anxiety thankfully, and there’s plenty of people in a much worse situation than me, but it was really nice to receive a couple of emails from customers this evening. Lifted my spirits a lot.
We have decided to close Wee Beer Shop, and our web shop, until it is safe to re-open. Hopefully sooner rather than much later.
This includes click and collect orders from the web shop. I’ll be in touch with those who have orders to be collected.
Are you a reader of

? So you’ll know that Wee Beer Shop was voted Scotland’s favourite food and drink shop in their recent awards.
Many thanks if you voted for us, and props to co-winners

I think this is the biggest delivery we’ve ever had from Overtone.
Includes two new IPAs - Hedge Trimmer and Northern Hemisphere (a rebrew and canned this morning!), new Imperial Stout Dark Banter, and a restock of the amazing Raspberry Sour.
Imran is in our window, thanks to of Simon Murphy’s Govanhill Street Level photo exhibition, part of the Govanhill International Festival and Carnival.
No word of a lie, February has been a slog. This wee burst of springtime has been greeting me at the Queen’s Park Battlefield gate for the last week our so and has done a job of lifting the spirits though!
Next stage - leaving the shop in daylight - can’t be far off!
This is the best summary of the Deposit Return Scheme that I’ve read. It succinctly covers what producers, retailers, and ultimately drinkers, face.
TLDR for drinkers - the end of the amazing range of amazing beer you can buy now, and back to drinking supermarket beer.
1/The Deposit Return Scheme, DRS, is fast approaching introduction by the Scottish government. There is next to no public awareness of how badly this would affect Scottish business, the Scottish and UK economy, and the general public.
Thanks to everyone who came down to the Dookit showcase yesterday. Great beer & great company. Thanks to Harry for co-hosting. Numbers wildly surpassed what I expected and we ran out of Dookit beer for people to buy. Luckily Harry has promised to restock the fridges later today!
That’s 2020 finished for us, and good riddance. It’s been a horrible year but it’s been made bearable for us by our wonderful customers. We had a super busy December and we’d like to thank you all.
