Honored to repeat as first place for Sports Columnist at
@NENPA
.
Last year was with the Powder Report. This year got a bit deeper with the Runner's High series.
By the time Mount Greylock boys basketball returns to Williamstown from Friday's Elite Eight game at Holbrook, the Mounties will have traveled an absolutely bonkers 1,019 miles for three MIAA State Tournament games...
Still working behind the scenes to bring Berkshire County sports coverage to The Eagle. You just might not see me in the field for the next month or two...
Was told Pittsfield's Craig Jackson painted those jerseys in art class today. He had 8 of his team-high 26 points in the first quarter, and that's pretty cool.
Wahconah's Maria Gamberoni scores on a drive off a 2nd chance opportunity to become the school's overall career scoring leader. 1,314 points-and-counting pushes her by Pat Duquette.
Halftime notes: Both teams have identical color schemes and are named Warriors. There are 24 shuttlecocks stuck in the Wahconah gym ceiling fans. Also, Spiderman is currently terrorising he court.
How crazy was Berkshire County boys basketball this season?
39 30-point games (Huban 11, McGuire 7, D. Brown 7, Stubbs 5, Percy 5, Heath 1, Foehl 1, Paris 1, L. Brown 1)
Now that this totally outrageous, incredible day happened, I’m heading to Costa Rica for 10 days. If you need something, handle it yourself. You’re an adult and I believe in you.
Berkshire County's top finishers at the MIAA Cross-Country championships.
Girls D-II: Kate Swann
Girls D-I: Kellie Harrington
Boys D-II: Ted Yee
Boys D-I: Emanuel Brown
These early start State Tournament games have meant this fast-rising 2037 guard is trying to join layup lines around the county.

Proud to say The Eagle earned first place honors for sports section at

Specifically, validation for The Huddle, which

2017 was a wild year for me. It was even wilder for the guys on Taconic Baseball. My top memory this year is having the privilege of covering them for the last four years, all of which built up to an epic state title run.
With sports world dried up, I'm transitioning to news/GA
@BerkshireEagle
.
Grateful to still have a media job.
Never got into this for sports, here to tell stories. Fields, mountains, courts (bball or law) or around a campfire.
I'm here.
FINAL in 10: Pittsfield 7, Monson 6.
Traversa reaches, steals 2 bases. Benoit fouls off 4 straight, works full count with bases loaded, drops walk-off single into RF.
Squeamish Warning...
But needs mentioning. Derek Paris slid headfirst into home with the go-ahead run, threw out base runners from behind the plate and hit a ball 310 feet to the opposite field, all after his finger looked like this in the third inning yesterday.
End Q3: Taconic 58, Westboro 44.
In case there was any doubt as to what kind of postseason Isaac Percy is having, he puts this down at the buzzer. 21 in third alone.
4 Berkshire County girls have hit the 100-point mark already this season. Alie Mendel & Lexi Mercier lead way at 137 each. Shannon Finnegan 110, Bella Aitken 105.
East Longmeadow got inside the Wahconah 10. But Salvini with the huge interception in the end zone on 4th down. Warriors take over with a minute left, leading 14-6.
Colby flagged on a Williams punt gifted Ephs an extra possession, and McHugh capitalizes.
Fellow first-year Holden Gering with the short TD catch (XP block)
Colby 14, Williams 6

Met up with Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin during some of her brief down time in the
#Berkshires
today. Look for a full feature covering everything from her time in Pyeongchang to her favorite pasta recipes in Sunday's Berkshire Eagle.
