I. am. scared. My son went to urgent care because of chest pain/breathing. Urgent care sent him to the hospital in an ambulance because they thought he had a blood clot from his surgery to remove testicle. Just got a call that the CT at the hospital showed cancer in his lungs. 😭

Great news. Tycen is getting discharged! Ultrasound of lower legs revealed no more blood clots. Chemo that was suppose to be today will be rescheduled for early next week!

Rough night. Tycen’s oxygen level dropped down to 82 about 1am. He started shaking real bad and coughing up blood. Hospital moved him to ICU. After he got into his ICU room, he fell asleep. Will know more this morning.

Haven’t had oxygen since Friday.

Daily goals are just to get up every hour and go for walks on hospital floor.

Tycen has deposited 11 million stem cells. That’s enough for his tandem stem cell transplant that will start January 6th. M.D. Anderson is allowing him to come home for Christmas. I get to have my boy back for Christmas! 👏

Tycen has been discharged from M.D. Anderson. He is at the apartment in Houston. He is still having complications from the meds and chemo. But the first transplant is over. He will likely be back in-patient in two weeks for the second one.

I just want to brag about my beautiful wife. She has been Tycen’s step mom since he was 10 years old and hasn’t missed a beat. She has held my family together in the most difficult of times. She graduated from OU with her masters and is one of the best nurses in Tulsa.

Tycen’s newest round of chemotherapy treatment is called TIP. It starts Tuesday. Tuesday morning at 9 AM he will start a 24 hour infusion. 24 straight hours of chemo. And then two more bags of chemo daily for the rest of the week. We can do this.
