NEWS: Ian Anderson has completed his rehab assignment and he is back in Gwinnett, sources tell Stripers Report. His next start will be with the Stripers, sources also tell Stripers Report.
@YourFriendKyle_
He’s an alright 2nd baseman at the AAA level, but he’s been pitching around once a week for the past few weeks. He has a pretty good knuckleball.
Sources confirm to Stripers Report that the White Sox and Braves have been talking. No word on what has been said in these talks, but Luis Robert Jr and Erick Fedde’s names have been said, a source tells Stripers Report.
Braves and White Sox have been in communication. Uncertain what the focus is but Luis Robert would surely fit ATL (if they were willing to spend — abd that’s a big if!) Crochet, Fedde, Pham also may be of interest to injury-depleted but still contending Braves
Braves are among teams considering White Sox ace Garrett Crochet. Makes sense for them if they can muster decent return. They have multiple injury losses/concerns at the top of their rotation and Crochet salary ($800K) is very reasonable.
My prediction for the trade deadline. This could be all wrong or all right or some right.
-Braves acquire at least one MLB OF
-Braves acquire a starting pitcher who could start in MLB
-Braves trade Dylan Dodd
-Braves acquire some position player prospects who are in AA/AAA
🚨Breaking News: all AAA games from June 25 until the end of the season will use the ABS Challenge system for the whole week instead of just the weekend. Also, the International League will reduce the amount of challenges from three per game to two per game.
I bet that AA still has another trade or two before the deadline with all the prospects still not being traded and wil salary that can still be dumped.
Absolutely cannot complain with Yuli Gurriel’s performance at 3rd tonight. He played 3rd for the first half of his career, and it looks like he still has it at 3rd.
NEWS: Yuli Gurriel received an offer from a team in the NPB, the top Japanese Baseball League, that he turned down, sources confirm
@francysromeroFR
’s report.
NEWS: Braves’ Michael Harris II will be put on the IL, and either Ramón Laureano or Forrest Wall will be called up in his absence, sources tell Stripers Report. Laureano was not pulled from tonight’s Gwinnett game due to this possible call up.
I LOVE the Braves selection in Can Caminiti. He’s a great left hander that the Braves pitching development team (one of best in baseball) will continue to coach him into being a major league stud. By far the best prep LHP in this draft.
Around the Dial: Fox Sports will have The Beast Brandon Gaudin, on loan from Atlanta, ace pitcher and analyst John Smoltz, and Ken Rosenthal on the call of Atlanta/Philadelphia on Saturday Night Baseball August 31.
I do really doubt this… just because AA hasn’t talked to anyone about an impact starter doesn’t mean the Braves aren’t expected to get one. I don’t think anyone has ever gotten true info into AA’s plans from the Braves office.
The Braves are not expected to acquire an impact starter before Tuesday's deadline, in part because they believe Max Fried will return from the IL relatively soon.
@MLBNetwork
I just want to thank y’all for 500 followers on Stripers Report! I don’t usually make a big deal of milestones such as followers, but to think that half a thousand people follow me for Stripers News just blows my mind! Thank y’all so much for the continued support!!
INJURY NEWS: Stripers SS Nacho Alvarez Jr. has suffered a “mild-slightly moderate” wrist injury, sources tell Stripers Report. It is unknown at this time whether Alvarez will spend any time on the Injured List. He is considered day-to-day currently.
I rarely talk about anything that’s not baseball on here, but some things are bigger than baseball. I feel like I’m doing a disservice as a citizen of the USA by not speaking out. Here’s my thoughts on what happened. Just because I wrote this does not mean anything politically.
BRAVES MILB NEWS: The Braves are to promote pitcher Drue Hackenberg to Double-A Mississippi, sources tell Stripers Report. Hackenberg is the Braves
#10
prospect according to .
@CrosbyBaseball
reported first and confirmed by SR sources.
Anderson being scratched scares me for two reasons. Reason 1 is the possibility that he has had a setback and maybe tweaked something in that elbow. Reason 2 is Gwinnett is exhausting their bullpen tonight, leaving fewer people for ATL to call up if needed.
@Derek9306
Considering CBP is Truist North, then Nationals Park is Truist Capitol, LoanDepot Park is Truist South, and Camden Yards is Truist Park @ Camden Yards.
You guys have really shown me a lot of support over these last few weeks and it makes me feel like my goal of informing people about the Gwinnett Stripers is being met. Thank y’all! It feels like the work is finally paying off and none of it is possible without y’all!!
For those who get these three ballparks confused (like myself), Truist Park is where the Braves play (duh), Truist Field is where the Charlotte Knights (AAA-CWS) play, and Truist Stadium is where the Winston-Salem Dash (A+-CWS) play
NACHO FREAKING ALVAREZ HIT THAT BALL!!!!
🚨DINGER ALERT 🚨
NACHO ALVAREZ SMASHES HIS FIRST AAA HOMER ON THE FIRST GOOD PITCH HE SEES TO EVEN US UP AT 2!!
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
The Gwinnett Stripers have signed a deal with Gray Television that would put 13 select home Stripers games for the remainder of this season on Peachtree Sports Network (WPCH 17.2 over the air).
Yuli Gurriel has recovered from his grade 1 hamstring strain and return tomorrow (Saturday), sources tell Stripers Report.
@francysromeroFR
was on it 1st.
INJURY UPDATE: Allan Winans, who appeared to be hurt yesterday in the 5th inning, but finished out the inning and was replaced before the 6th inning, is not injured, and he is on track to start his next scheduled start, sources tell Stripers Report.
