They're also all characters in the comics who don't get their powers from a Spider and are essentially science experiments that create a hero. Miguel is created by Alchemax, Jess has had tons of origins but is generally linked to the high evolutionary and Ben is a Clone.
It’s very interesting how Jessica Drew, Miguel O’Hara, and Ben Reiley all don’t have any introductions. Like I know their ops, but I wonder if that was an intentional writing choice.

I think the symbiote affecting Peter's negative emotions is just something that's always gonna be a part of the suit from now on, to the point it's weird to think that it wasn't a thing in the comics at all and was basically invented for the 90's cartoon.

It's definitely intentional that Miguel's main team in the movie is composed of characters typically completely separate from the traditional origins or you could say the "canon". It makes me hope that they have a lot to do and say with them in Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Toyotaro was handpicked by Toriyama to be his successor regardless of how I or anyone feels about his output with Super no one has more right to pick up that ball and run with it than him. I support him completely and hope he's as ok as he can be following such a huge loss.

Ben Reilly an actual 616 character has "no place" in the current Spider-Man landscape so he had to be broken, Kaine and Silk haven't gotten consistent attention in years but Gwen can get forced into 616 just for lame brand synergy? This fucking sucks and just hurts the character.

Everyone talks about how great JK Simmons as Jonah but I don't think we Ed Asner doesn't get enough love for his performance as JJ from Spider-Man TAS because he's also really great in that role!

Peter talking about how a SA suvivor and his brother (who once again is not in his right mind having had his entire mind purged) both deserve jail and punishment while he's wearing a suit made by NORMAN FN OSBORN really shows what a sad pathetic hypocrite they've made him.

Ben Reilly is just as valid in the role of Spider-Man as Peter and Miles all of his character development in the 90's led to him taking on that role and he should be allowed to inhabit it today and be given the opportunity for his own stories and growth in the modern day.

This book is an example of how Superior Spider-Man might have been the worst thing that's happened to Otto as a character in the long term. He can never be this permanently but at the same time it's too popular to forget so he's just stuck in limbo, ironically kinda like Peter.

I find it funny how Maul's big plan in Clone Wars S7 relied on him luring someone who 100% who would have murdered him in a 1v1 fight in Anakin to Mandalore with Obi Wan, another Jedi who while not as strong as Anakin is definitely capable of defeating Maul.

Peter asking Ben to be Mayday's godfather! By specifying that MJ's sister is the godmother it shows how completely Peter has accepted Ben as his brother and it's perfect for Ben's journey! He started as a clone with nothing and no one but now he has a family who truly love him.

In the comics it was because it used his body to swing about and fight when he was asleep making Peter exhausted all the time, plus he was just disgusted in general at the idea of it trying to merge with him.
