Structurally speaking, the story structure in Return to Edan reminded me of The Return of the King... But at the end of the day, Return of Edan taught the hard and necessary lesson in choosing to love. It is my favorite of the trilogy with a satisfying and bittersweet ending.

There are times when I think I must have been crazy to put so many years into writing The Edan Trilogy, but then I read something like this and know it was all worth it.
It's also very easy to forget you're reading a self published debut novel here. The book reads as good if not better than quite a lot of the traditionally published fantasy I've read in recent years.
