We can be happy about this, but also acknowledge it’s taken far too long for them to even be fixed or discussed.

Respectfully, this is what I mean by double standards. Why is Wyll held to such high standards but every other companion gets a free pass and are treated as the helpless victims. Wyll didn’t forge the pact for “one heroic day”. It was to protect the city in his father’s absence.
Wyll is definitely abused, but I think part of the reason it tends to get glossed over is because he literally made a deal with the devil. At 17, he’s old enough to have the agency to make that decision, foolish though it was.
