September 12th and I just picked another 4.5lbs of figs. In previous years production would've dried up 10 days ago.
That's 62lbs of figs from 2 trees, shattering my last best total from 3 years ago of 34lbs. Over twenty thousand calories in just figs. By far my best producing

After the investment of lids ~ $100) I'm good to go for years. I use the reusable lids. I've had them for years now so I'm guessing $1.50/jar and no chemicals you can't pronounce
Never noticed it before but pasta sauce prices have really gotten out of control.

Two different plants; that center fruit always ripens 1st. Keep picking everyday bc as they ripen & you pick the plant will use that energy to ripen the other fruits.
Plus these are bird magnets. You don't want to lose too many to them!

The chickens free-range every afternoon & I lock them in once they return to the coop at night.
Apparently I lost 4 birds sometime in the late afternoon to predators, including my rooster. I didn't realize until I checked them today. RIP Taurus, Heavy Cream, Light Cream, Henna

You're looking at 10lbs of figs from one day picking. Most will go to fig mead once the weather cools, for now in the freezer. More will go to fig butter.
If you live Zone 7 or better and aren't planting figs, you're missing out. Even if you don't like them you can dry and sell
