20 years ago I had to record, drive to a studio, book an hour in there, load my audio into a 1ghz PC with a 1.2GB hard drive & get it edited before I ran out of time. Today I’m sitting in a cafe on the outskirts of Leeds where the only time constraint is If my tea goes cold.

If you work in radio read this thread. It shows you exactly what can be done with an iPhone as your main recorder and editor. Every radio piece I’ve done in the past 9 years has been recorded on phone, and edited on one for past 8. Massive thanks to Wytse for this.

My father used to act as a ‘helper’ to Father Christmas for children in Banks Rd in Garston, Liverpool. After he died in 1993 my Mum filled the gap. She’s still going strong. Merry Christmas to all if you’re celebrating today - especially women Santas!

New ‘mirror rig’ to allow me to use the front facing, better camera lenses on a phone and frame it properly nearly got a surprise outing on the One O’Clock news just now. I only built it half an hour ago. Narrowly averted due to real stories elsewhere. Phew.
