@poorly_hidden @TheLastNeocon This is literally true. You can look up who judges select for clerkships. These 2 judges have selected only conservative students with membership in federalist society and other conservative groups. These are the only people harmed by this cancellation.

@shadihamid Arab-American’s absolutist position (on “genocide Joe,” as they would have it) is going to force Biden to the middle in order to pick up some Independents& Romney/Haley Republicans. Good for the country, but exactly the opposite of what the Arab-American’s calling him names want.

Evidence in this article suggests Georgia prosecutors have very strong computer trespass case under §16-9-93b. Conviction likely means at least some jail time (&up to 15-yrs). Could see Giuliani—b/c high likelihood of conviction—doing everything he can to get out of this charge.

@lxeagle17 @dhaaruni @SplitTicket_ This is becoming a remarkably pervasive trend. Even on support for the student loan forgiveness proposal, men (-4) and women (+18) are 22-points apart. The trend was already there, but Dobbs might cement the realignment across a much wider range of issues than just abortion.

@SethCotlar Hard not to see this as a dog whistle. This trope has a long, disturbing history. Vindman is Jewish.

@sentdefender You are mischaracterizing what happened. I’m not saying the situation is black and white. I’m saying you always write as if it is.

An increase in calls by Hamas and other militant organizations to confront Jews visiting the grounds of al-Aqsa Mosque. While Ramadan has been relatively quite, it's clear Hamas is using the upcoming Passover holiday as a pretext to launch an incitement campaign.

@DamonLinker @HeathMayo So not this? If 95% of the people using the word are using the word to mean “thing I don’t like” then that’s what the word means, even if the new meaning is so dumbed down as to be meaningless.

@BillKristol A discharge petition is not easy. The procedure was used successfully just two times in the last 30 years(last time in 2015, below). But it’s possible given the nature of this Bill. The burden and opportunity will be on Biden to effectively employ his bully pulpit to get it done.

@AaronRegunberg @NickProto If your concern really is winning in states like Michigan, appealing to the 300k Haley voters makes more sense than pandering to the 100k uncommitted.

This is literally the MAGA message, from it’s 2 most prominent leaders: Biden allowed the worst intelligence leak in U.S. history, but the person responsible is a poor innocent martyr who deserves our thanks. Makes perfect sense:

@JonahDispatch This is the problem with living in a partisan bubble. The Biden administration did not introduce[] the idea of banning gas stoves.” If this claim was from the left, you would have checked it closely. Here, you just assume without so much as a google search…. /1

@NGrossman81 @BulwarkOnline Good insight! One example of your point: I was surprised post Dobbs by how certain many smart, respectable right-leaning journalists/pundits were that the decision would have no impact. Shockingly to me, even now many of them are explaining away results like Ohio…. 1/2

@stanveuger @TheLastNeocon The intellectual decline of @NRO sadly continues on. What is this “woke” behavior they think is so awful? It is, in their own words, Anheuser-Busch’s “long-running inclusivity-focused ad strategy.” The whole article is a smug diatribe against inclusivity.

@JonahDispatch Compare Romney, who in describing his child tax credit plan, said it was vital to the future of our country because it helps with “the most important work any of us will ever do — raising our society’s children.” Looking past partisanship, the the two messages are very similar.

Such remoteness from reality & thoughtlessness can wreak more havoc than all the evil instincts taken together…that was, in fact, the lesson” —Arendt

This is a stupid political move by DeSantis that will backfire on him. Putting aside the cruelty, which is of course the point, this will cost DeSantis a lot of votes in the Venezuelan and other communities where he currently polls relatively well.

@Timodc The biggest difference between great & remembered leaders and failed & forgotten leaders is that the ones we remember took advantage of the opportunity to lead. McConnell, given the opportunity, chose to squander it for a gold watch and the praise of people who don’t like him.

This will be a prominent event when we look back on & read about the historic political realignment we are going through. The next Republican leader will be a MAGA Republican. The takeover is almost complete.

@jaynordlinger @jleeannis The dilemma of making too much v. too little reminds me of US journalists interactions with (and reactions to) Lindbergh in the ‘20’s and ‘30’s. The greater danger - as @AndrewNagorski has captured well - is certainly the latter.
