I hacked the Magic Mouse.
And created the world's first ergonomic Magic Mouse with no weaknesses.
Yes, you can charge it via USB-C right while you're working!
More details + demo in the thread
It took about 8 hours, but it was worth it.
The first ever PoE-powered Mac mini with power redundancy.
I couldn't wait to share. More details tomorrow. In the process of work, I took photos and videos.
If this tweet gets 1,000 likes, I'll even make a youtube video with
Just a carry-on for the 10 Compute Blade.
40 ARM cores, 80Gb RAM and 5Tb Storage in one hand
To make it easier to carry to the server room.
I wonder if they'll let me into the airport with this 🤣

Installed 20 Compute Blades in a brand new metal 19 inch BladeRunner
And I'm showing the 40 more I installed earlier at the end of the video.
Total 60 Raspberry Pi CM4 8GB Ram with NVMe disks (512GB each).
Or 240 ARM cores, 480GB RAM and 30TB storage.

Demo of Mac mini with PoE and power redundancy.
The project has gotten a serious response, 7 times higher than I expected.
I think it's better to put everything on the site, I'm working on the article, and after that, I'll do the video.
I promised more details, and I'll drop
UpBerry devices
Raspberry Pi CM4 based device with USB-C for power and flashing and HDMI output.
Can be used as a small PC with a USB hub, but the main purpose is to display various dashboards on screens in the office.
4 core arm cpu, up to 8 GB Ram, 32GB EMMC. About 6W power
1U platform for 4 Mac mini M2 Pro (12-Core CPU/32 GB/1 TB/10 Gigabit Ethernet) is ready.
The control is based on Raspberry Pi with the PiKVM with some UI customization (on the screenshot).

My thoughts on the Raspberry Pi 5.
Meet the Compute Node Five
That is Raspberry Pi 5 HAT:
- M.2 port 2280 for SSDs, up to 985 MB/s
- 802.3at Type 2, PoE+ (Power over Ethernet)
- Optional OLED screen
- 2 action buttons
The rack mount enclosure for up to 18 nodes in just 2U
It remains to connect the Raspberry Pi
and a little configuration
Full remote access to the 16 mac mini!
Next, let's take it to the data center )

Happy upcoming holidays!
I've posted an article and all the info you need to install your Mac minis in a remote data center and have full remote access to them.
Merry Christmas Apple!
I tried really hard and compiled everything I had about the PoE-powered Mac mini project
I really hope you like it 😊
P.S. Click Retweet while it's still called that, and may the force be with you
ML Server with 8x RTX 4090 24Gb, 2x AMD EPYC CPUs, and water cooling.
The radiator, reservoir, and pump are separate 2U platform

Assembled 1U 19" platform.
A few blades on the test at the moment. Tomorrow I'll install everything in the server room.
20x Raspberry Pi CM4, 8 GB RAM, and 512 Gb NVMe each. Or 80x Cortex-A72 ARM cores, 160 Gb Ram and 10 Tb Storage per platform.

Home testing :)
Compute Blades v1 and mass production versions of the Fan Unit.
The enclosure is printed on a FDM printer, the final version for the Uptime Team Cluster (for the Kickstarter) will be on SLS printer. I will order samples in the next few days

The new KVM stand is going to be very powerful
16 Mac minis for rack mounting
10 Gigabit Ethernet and top M2 Pro CPU
Still working on an article on this project. Full remote control, with the ability to press the power button on the Mac. This will be the fifth stand I'm
So, shall I go ahead and add Power Delivery to Mac mini?
Along with PoE.
Then you can connect only a monitor (with PD support) with one cable and use the Mac.
I delidded Raspberry Pi 5 CPU and made a custom cooling system with thermal tubes and Peltier element.
In theory, it is possible to reach sub-zero temperatures.
Testing is in progress. Results will be up soon in a thread here and on my site

KVMac4 mk3
Now 16 Mac mini in 4U (or 4 in 1U)
This is a platform for 4 Mac mini M1/M2 motherboards. With full remote control (with the ability to reinstall the OS or enter recovery mode) via Raspberry Pi and PiKVM
You can read about its older brother KVMac16 on my website:
The last piece left is the adapters to control the Mac mini's power button on the motherboard.
KVMac4 platform, four of them. 16 Mac mini M2 with full remote control in just 4U.
Remote management is done based on

and some customizations
There were a few iterations until I made a good enclosure.
Of course, there is always room for improvement. I will share the project on my site and GitHub in the coming days.
Compute Blade v0.9 RC1 summary:
All looks pretty fine. All the main functions work. Only minor changes need to be made to RC2. And it is RC2 that I will send to tests and reviews. And perhaps to the earliest Kickstarter backers, but about that later ...

Kube in Cube
Meet it at the JetBrains booth at KubeCon Europe 2024
2x Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi 4+ PiKVM + ServoHAT, 4 Mac mini M2 Nodes with full remote control
#KubeCon
4 Mac mini with full remote management in 1 server unit. No unnecessary moving parts (like servo or solenoids for the power button)
The prototype is ready.
Installed in the server room to check and test it. If all goes well, I'll make a nice front panel.
UI in the last picture
Added the files to GitHub
I also updated the section on media mentions in the original article. It's so cool to me
But it seems the trend days are coming to an end :) Even a little sad.
Until the next hype!
Nice to meet all the
Compute Blade development halfway, it's time to sum up some of the results. Easier to do this in the picture.
Important changes in v0.6:
- TPM 2.0 chip
- Port for
@zymbit
ZYMKEY4i
- USB-A for YubiKey
- Power supply up to 22W
- NVMe 22110
Thanks for your support!

The development of KVMac4 is ongoing. I decided to try the native fans. For M2 it is not so easy to blow the heatsink without guides for air.
Just to remind you, this is a platform for 4 Mac minis with full remote control in 1 rack unit. Based on PiKVM, with custom power button
Compute Node /concept/
The same size as the Raspberry Pi 4.
Same performance. But with NVMe disk (2242), PoE, and status-screen onboard

Built a temporary Home Assistant server to install in my wife's art studio. It will have at least ventilation control, air quality monitoring, security camera, and door opening via telegram bot, since there will be a art co-working.
Charges directly the battery, so the mouse doesn't turn off while charging. But the percentages increase even though the OS thinks the mouse is running on battery.
What's inside.
The response to the original post is kind of insane.
I'll post the article and all the sources soon, for those who want to tweak/replicate the project.
And would love to see you on our Discord server 🖖

Got couple of the new devices from Microsoft (25 to be exact). I am going to make a rack stand for them.
But first I'm going to disassemble one. To be sure about quality and air flow

I would be very grateful for the usage scenarios you see for such devices. And most importantly, what would you like to improve (besides the way it looks.)
