Same with HS soccer. In my opinion, it’s what makes it more meaningful than club soccer each Fall. You represent your community. You are put in different positions to develop as a player/person. It’s a different type of responsibility and pressure. 4 years to leave your mark.

My first love was always soccer, but playing several sports certainly helped me play at the D1 level. Basketball helped my footwork, jumping ability, and timing for soccer. That man to man defense translated pretty well to 1v1 defending as well. Too bad I couldn’t shoot! 😂
