When I was night supv., I gave an RN a day off so she could help her friend who was receiving her military son's body. He was KIA. Staff at Corning Guthrie Hosp. agreed to cover her. The CON, Debra Raupers, suspended the RN. Said it was unplanned! NFS!💔

I have lived that nightmare! No ICU beds means the ER nurse subs in as the ICU nurse while continuing to get an onslaught of ER patients! It is dangerous, unsafe and horrible. The pressure on nurses and doctors is unreal!

In the 80s as a Navy Corpsman, I had to transport patients from the Naval Hospital to Sacred Heart Hospital via ambulance. The anti-abortion protesters impeded my ability because they would go out into the road with their signs and chanting. I hated that.

Many will hate on me for this, but unions for nurses force mandated staffing guidelines, which is good. I have been subjected to the worst kind of short staffing and witnessed very dangerous patient ratios. Nurses should have rights, too.

I was unable to have my tubes tied while on active duty Navy. Had a child (high risk preg. and traumatic emergency c-section) and was divorced. Was told that I was single and didn't have 2.5 children so they refused. Guarantee the guys were not refused.
