In Japan you have to be 20 to smoke or drink alcohol. France it is 18 for both. However, Japanese culture is strict, so when traveling abroad, you are expected to follow Japan laws not the country you are in. Shoko is 19. But also, probably not good a gymnast is consuming alcohol

The irony is that it was the Americans that were the BIGGEST advocates for going to 2 per country for the AA. They were the main lobbyist. Romania won 3 AA medals in 1996 and originally swept the podium in 2000. USA can't complain NOW when they wanted it to begin with

They have FIG licenses already, they are in the process of renewing them which is different than applying for one. All three had licenses up to a few months ago. FIG doesn't update the database every day, it is usually every month.

Ana never had a medal. She celebrated too early before the results were official. She was flashed as 3rd place, but the meet wasn't over. Jordan had the right to inquire her score, just like Sabrina did. This is why you wait for the official results.

Romania wanted them to share the medal and IOC and FIG said no and put into place asking for the return of the medal from Chiles. So I doubt they will do a sharing now.

Kayla Williams, before Jade Carey, Kayla was the first level 10 to be recruited for vaulting. Marta specifically reached out to her. Williams then went to University of Alabama the following year and competed for them for 4 years, helping them win NCAAs in 2012.

No, Murakami missed the NHK Cup earlier in the year, which is one of the qualifying meets. She was fine for the rest of the season and could have gone to Worlds. She petitioned and it was denied, since JGA insists on using results only and AA ranking. It was a silly decision

The case was being rushed. USAG did not have enough time to gather evidence. They now have video evidence of Cecile verbally inquiry at 47 seconds and the paperwork handed in at 55 seconds. USAG was not allowed to prepare properly.

Some people rely on the holiday pay. I always volunteered to work Thanksgiving because in edition to the 8 hrs of holiday pay I got that week, I also got paid 8 hrs and it was at double time, so I got paid for 24 hrs of work when it was just 8 hrs. That's how I paid for Christmas

Yes, which meant that the inquiry was filed in one minute, which allegedly it was 1 min 4 sec. I doubt this is accurate, the review was done and the score changed really quickly. USAG is claiming Cecile verbally inquired within 47 secs and filed at 55 secs. Which makes sense.

Tokyo was a fluke though, one athlete out after the first event and then gymnasts had to shift and compete events last minute with 3 up 3 count and only 3 to go up.
