Any sub teachers out there? So far i have contacted 27 subs for 1 position and nothing...either no response or they are cc or isolating because they have covid. Thankfully i'm only looking for 1 (at the moment)

Public health have just closed 2 classes for the week and all students must have pcr tests on saturday. The lovely lady i spoke with was utterly shocked when i explained the close contact clearing from the app for teachers...she thought it must be a glitch!

I love it-i jumped the gun and closed a pod last sunday evening to be told by the contact tracer on monday at 3.30pm that i had done the right thing-they can all go to hell as far as i'm concerned. i have had a week of them. Im ready for a bottle or 2 of red right now!

And in a huge amount of schools these are not made and never have been but is it not a good thing to teach our kids about traditions? I only learned this week about the piece of cloth hung on bushes outside a home!!!! These traditions, whether religious or not are becoming lost

So just to clarify...2 other people watched you fill in a form for 3 hours? 2 other people got paid to watch u do this? This is what the inspectorate are doing now - watching us filling out a form? And a rep from ncse whose job it is to do this is watching u fill in the form 🤷♀️

Ettie was a pupil in our school. We have a classroom named after her. The Holocaust Memorial Society are going to be placing a bronze plaque on the footpath outside our school....over the next few years!!!!

I can't source someone to teach from monday in an SET position between ourselves and another school for the rest of the year so don't even get me started on CLASS hours. We are in crisis mode already and tomorrow only the 1st October...what an absolute disgrace

Name the experts and invite them into our 34sq metre classroom and tell us then that its safe. Tell our parents it is safe to send their children into the undersized and overcrowded classrooms. She is welcome to come visit

Everytime I read something that this woman says my blood boils...how dare she reduce the knowledge and skills of all teachers, SNAs and school leaders to that of babysitters. We too wish to be with family members over the holidays 😡🤬

This is a reality in so many of our schools. We are 2 out of 4 SEN posts down, a school I was speaking with today are 5 out of 6 SEN posts down...unacceptable for everyone concerned
Our survey shows there's a current shortfall of 809 permanent, fixed-term and long-term substitute teachers in the schools who responded to the survey. Schools indicated that they anticipate having an additional 1,202 long-term vacancies within the next 3 months

A member of staff had a family wedding to attend...she is bridesmaid and came in with her fake tan done...a junior inf told his mother she had changed colour for the wedding!!!!!😅🤣

Our poor school secretary had a stroke last october. I doubled jobbed until last april 12th when our new secretary started and never again....i was on my last legs. Our secretaries are vital to the smooth running of our school and deserve to be respected and paid accordingly

Just heard that a family have travelled to tenerife for a month to isolate through our school lockdown!!!!!! Lets hope they isolate for the 2 weeks afterwards too!

Again the deparrment are so behind with directives they did the same in December. So classes can be in cramped classrooms with no social distancing for a whole day but not on a bus to a venue and back? Grant me patience

...travelling from belgrade to munich we were 45 mins delayed so werent going to make our connecting flight...whisked from one plane across the tarmac and round aeroplanes in a minivan and pilot of 2nd flight waited for the 12 of us!

SETs also get sick and need subs! There are literally no teachers available anywhere. Supply panel booked up for the next month, no local subs as students back face to face. Don't even get me started on trying to find SNA subs 😪i'm exhausted already

Our 5 co2 monitors arrived this morning 1 completely broken. I plugged them all in beside each other and they all had different readings! We then checked after an hour - still different despite being centimetres apart. We then put them in 4 corners and the teacher kept the data!
