It's shocking how many people are unaware that waitpeople are taxed on the food they serve, with an assumed percentage as a tip..when I was a waitress, the amount was 8% of the bill that I was on the hook for income, whether I got a 2% tip or a 20% tip; people need to be aware

I spent 5 hours at my Dad's house yesterday, and one step sibling called him in Maine from Idaho, my brother, who lives nearby, called him on his way somewhere else...Dad has 6 stepkids and 4 of his own, and at 87 deserved better from all of them

When mine was 12, he stood behind me in front of my brother's coffin and gently squeezed my shoulder...it was such a mature, caring thing to do.
Teenagers have a lot to offer the conversation, it's up to us to look past the odious behavior and just listen to them.

My husband grew up with nobody celebrating his birthday, nobody giving him a card or getting him a gift...he's very uncomfortable with the idea of cake and presents on his birthday, so we keep it very low key...my birthday, I party all week long, eat everything, and celebrate!

I knew good, hardworking people who refused to be vaccinated, and died from Covid..my 86-year-old mother, vaccinated and boosted, just got COVID recently, though she was very sick, hospitalized, she's pulled through and is back home..it made all the difference, the miracle vax ❤️

I found a kitten screaming in my yard I. the rain once, brought it in and to the vet the next day, it was blind, had various active diseases, and I had to let them put it down, it was heartbreaking..we do what we can for those who need care, at least they weren't alone and scared

I just got home from the first physical I've had in over 20 years...I was scared about what they might find, but after the whole process was completed, I was given a thumbs up for being so healthy, at 61 you never know...now I know, and what a relief!
