Finally, here it is.
EVERY Riku Fight
Without Moving
Or Taking Damage
in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Proud Mode
I'm happy to have celebrated the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary in my own way. Thanks to everyone who's watched along my little project!
#KH20th
This is a pretty good example of how you interact with video games differently when you're younger, and that causes you to get attached to games in a way you can't replicate as an adult. And this is where a lot of unconcious biases, simply saying "nostalgia" is not sufficient.
The most cursed Resident Evil knowledge I've ever been privy to is the fact that Resident Evil 4's PS2 boxart is not a 3D render and is, in fact, art drawn by Shinkiro
Mario 64 devs: Let's put a big eel here. Thanks to graphical limitations this is the best we can do
Mario Kart 8 devs: We have the power to make him fit in with Mario's silly aesthetic now! : )
Mario Odyssey devs: No he's DEFINITELY supposed to look terrifying as possible
Calling Terry Bogard a guest character to Street Fighter is crazy... That's a brother beyond blood, man. That's an old friend. He's a friend character.
The cleaver already made an impact with the ground through Jerry's neck and Jerry still slips under and "dodges" it, surviving with his head still attached
This is the first instance of "Invincibility Frames"
Castlevania fans have it worse than any other "dead franchise"
Like yeah ok the series you likes isn't getting new games. That's not what's happening here though.
Our series died before it got its proper ending and yet they keep referencing this finale game that does not exist.
I saw a TikTok about if Ellie from Tlou2 could deal with the characters from Bully in pure hand to hand and she lost to most of them.
For one second i thought the guy who made the video was being biased but then i realized:
These mfs are actually OP in hand to hand combat.
Mario being the one to, and even being able to wield the Keyblade and open the way for Sora makes sense in a meta way.
Kingdom Hearts only exists because of Mario. It started as a game inspired by Super Mario 64.
Sora literally came from Mario.
>Go to Galar Region
>My pokedex is set to Unova's timezone
>Ask someone what the time is
>TOYME? WHAT'S THAT?
>Notice no one in Galar has a pokedex
>Big Ben starts to chime
>Everyone stops to count the bongs on their fingers
>Man crashes Gogoat trying to count them
>OI ITS 7 BONG
Friend: haha look at this funny post on twitter dot com
Me: haha funny
Me, internally: This the guy who has bad opinions on rpg gameplay. I will not be RTing. I will not even like
Everyone's different but it's very common for people to have valued games as children as a space to *exist* in. Whether you go the whole way and pretend or simply value meandering. Low risk spaces where you can just run and jump around for potentially hours creates an attachment.
Square Enix saw this guy and went he's an audiophile. He has airpods and a smartphone on him at all times to listen to music. He's into NuMetal, Video Game Music and Frank Sinatra. He fist bumps all his friends. He has beautiful blue eyes. He says the F word.
Nerd in 2014, getting pushed around and thrown to the ground while trying to escape a circle of school bullies: Why is this happening to meee : (
The 3DS in his pocket: Oh this dude is WALKING walking
Super Mario RPG is very funny because Mario's party members are all analogous to Final Fantasy classes (Mallow is a Red Mage, Geno a Black Mage, Peach a White Mage and Bowser a Summoner/Beast Master) but Mario is just Mario. He throws fireballs and jumps on you
Couple of people have told me I'm being narrowminded by only focusing on KH2's combat when I talk about the game and it still flabbergasts me. I'm actually being *extremely fair* when I only judge the game by its combat. There's nothing *but* combat in that game. Its a beat em up
This is such a great day for Paper Mario fans.
I can't believe hey finally confirmed, once and for all, in a way that NO ONE can deny
that the pink dots are Vivian's eyes
Even if the newer games might actually have larger spaces with more to do in them, people simply aren't able to interact with those spaces the same way they did as a kid, causing them to be adamant there was just something nebulous about the older games that felt more like home.
The fact that Street Fighting is not only legal but also literally a hobby so popular everyone partakes in Metro City makes it even more surprising that Cody got arrested for Street Fighting too hard. What did he DO!?
You can see people touching on this without realizing it when they compare newer games to games they liked as a kid. People will say Sonic Frontiers, KH3, Spider-Man 2 (PS5) don't have as much "life" in their spaces as Sonic Adventure 1, KH1 and 2, or Spider-Man 2 (PS2) did.
While Sony talks about Civilization on PS4, take a look at Hidari, the artist for several atelier games and Fire Emblem Echoes, doing the boxart for the vita version of civilization
This shot is so much more meaningful when you know the history. I'm sure it means a lot to the creators of Kingdom Hearts to have Sora officially meet Mario.
And for some people this also creates a bias AGAINST games that don't really care for you existing in it without playing, which is why people hated removing hub levels in Sonic Adventure 2, or complain that FF7Remake was so claustrophobic (even though Midgar was always like that)
Player 1 Mario has this VERY IMPORTANT COMBO OFF 2A
Player 2 Mario CANNOT DO THIS COMBO.
This gives off Chacram oki, which is one of the strongest okizeme tools in the game. Player 1 Mario is better by a lot
Please make this universal for both player 1 and 2

Some devs catch on to people valuing spaces to exist in, like Fire Emblem Engage letting you wander maps you beat aimlessly, but its a fool's errand because it'll never be as good as the first time people had a space, even though Three House's space existed to waste your time
To all the people saying "That's not cursed!" the emotion you feel when you see what looks like a regular 3D render, then notice his eyes and realize it was Shinkiro the whole time is definitely cursed. It feels like knowledge man was not meant to have.
What's a tweet that's so canonical in your mind you make shorthand reference to it, even if people might not know what you're talking about? (I sometimes just say "uh oh y'all it's gettin' kinda hazy" expecting people to get it)
Goku understand 3D geometry and is a knowledgeable enough farmer that he grows the largest radishes in the world so him understanding basic chemistry actually makes sense
The reason the "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR!?" scene in Mega Man X4 is a meme is because of the voice acting but no one tells you the funniest thing about the scene is Iris literally becoming a Reploid Ethnonationalist spouting racist rhetoric as her last words
Everyone saying "I still do that" is missing the point. Many people still try, and I also find many people find it hard to enjoy doing so on newer games the same way.
I think all the people going "They own Sora they could have used him" are forgetting the possibility that this could be a really cool boss fight in KH6
First official look at Lance Slashblade from ‘INSIDE OUT 2’.
Lance (voiced by Yong Yea) is a “pixel-y” video game character Riley had a crush on when she was younger.
People talk about the "real live beating heart" thing a lot but I think this is the real actual funniest joke in the Kingdom Hearts series and the fact that some people still get hung up on what it means just makes it funnier as time goes on
@EurydiceLuv
They first revealed this in a game released in 2003 and then released 5 more games building up to it then the series died but they evidently still wanna tease this non-existent game
Gomenasai, my name is Ganondorf-Sama. I’m a centuries year old Gerudo Otaku (Anime fan for you gaijins). I train with my Katana every day, this superior weapon can cut through steel because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon in Hyrule.
One time while explaining how bad this video was a friend tried saying youtube videos are just a drop in the bucket and don't affect perception of the game.
The game sold 3 million copies. This dumb video by a stupid person has 4.7 million views.
I have never been in any situation remotely resembling this yet this picture elicits a primal sadness from deep within me. Why is the pain I feel so real?
There actually is a barely dummied out special meter mechanic that probably would have worked similar to heat meter in RGG games. It almost hit all the notes to be western Yakuza
Several TTYD runners, myself included, have had difficulty hitting power bounces in the remake, we all struggled to get past 4 hits. So I did some science. And... yea, they're gatekeeping us.
The frame windows for the inputs seem to be:
7, 7, 6, 1 (!!), 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, ...
If this flabbergasts anyone, it's because Dark Souls was the first new game that forced people to think about how they approach melee combat in the seventh gen, which we never left culturally.
For a lot of people, the comparison is purely that they both have non-shooter combat.
The full Sora trailer had Sora fighting a character with a laser blade (specifically using a move that makes the laser red) on top of a skyscraper in a big city
It couldn't be... Yozora?
Pit's redesign for brawl is such a funny decision. I really like it, but no one else in the series was as drastically changed as he was even tho the og isn't that stylistically different from Mario
This used to be top comedy. You'd send this to all your friends and get a LMFAO or ROFL or even the rare all caps LOL. Nowadays no one can laugh at this unless they edit characters from a game or anime into it
Couple of people have told me I'm being narrowminded by only focusing on KH2's combat when I talk about the game and it still flabbergasts me. I'm actually being *extremely fair* when I only judge the game by its combat. There's nothing *but* combat in that game. Its a beat em up
I'm glad so many people are relating to this but I do want to make something clear, I never personally played games this way. I saw friends and family play this way, and I didn't understand it until I grew up and saw that kids continue to play this way. Everyone's different.
