It used to put me off but then I thought about it in the context of small reusable components and it makes a lot of sense - you either make a messy component which has 50 props for different styles or you compose divs which add stuff that you need

Пункт 4 мб где-то и есть, но в большинстве случаев нет. Ты мб путаешь с тем, что работодатель ответственность за тебя несёт во время дороги на работу(если несчастный случай и тп), но в счёт рабочего времени это не идёт.

I did this UI for my pet project but I have used a single hidden input element for it and the slots were just a display for that. Saved a lotta headache.

Since areas are generated depending on the landing point and it would be really hard to land on the same spot twice - does that mean you can't go back to an already explored area? That would explain why it doesn't really matter if the map is filled out.
