When he got to my table, my team members and I, known for our banter, started teasing him.
HOW WE MET
Opeyemi and I met in the most unconventional way, In fact I was even the one that sent him a message asking if he wanted to get married. (Hold on ladies, don’t beat me yet, I can explain myself) 😭
HOW WE MET
I met Dayo April 2015 in church (Harvesters International Christian Centre) he was in the choir, and I was a unilag student with no interest of having a boyfriend.
One Sunday morning I went to church with my friend and guess who came out to sing? You guessed right😂
HOW WE MET
We attended the same university where the Muslim community was small, and everyone was friends with everyone.
We had mutual friends but we only exchanged a few teslims during our Undergraduate days.
HOW WE MET
A friend of mine posted a video on Snapchat on a Sunday. The beard attracted me and I playfully sent her a dm saying “let me be helping him take care of his beard”.
HOW WE MET
My husband and I met first in 2012 at our department’s lobby. ( we both studied Mass Communications)
It was my first day in school as a jambite and he was completing his final year project.
HOW WE MET
My husband and I were childhood neighbours since we were kids. We were never close or friends in anyway. As we grew older we became merely acquaintances.
We had a mosque in our house which served the neighbours for congregation prayers.
HOW WE MET
Story of how we met isn't a very long one. We met at an event hosted for Mufti Menk( an Islamic scholar ) the first time he came to Nigeria.
It was in 2016. I saw him that day but we didn't talk.
HOW WE MET
This is a
#WeMetOnTwitter
story. Lol
I met my husband in 2019. I had been through a bad break up in 2018 and I just wanted to be by myself for a while.
I was talking to a few guys but nothing clicked for me, honestly.
My family loves him so much, and he is practically my mother's son. His mom is also my number one cheerleader, and I love our relationship.
I pray God continues to bless us, and honestly, forever is the deal.
Thank you for reading.
HOW WE MET
So, I remember getting back from work and just trying to catch up on the timeline gist, then I realized this lady who has not been online for months retweeted one of my tweets.
HOW WE MET
I met my husband in school in 2012 ,we were class mates. I was a Direct Entry student so I joined them in 200 lvl second semester as I deferred the first semester because of an accident I had at that time.
HOW WE MET
It was a sunny day sometime in 2016, I was informed to accompany senior consultant in the office to some site errands on the island. The news gave me scary imaginations of driving through the ever- overwhelming Lagos traffic as I quickly consulted the oracle
My husband and I met on Facebook, in 2015. I was just 17 then and I just resumed 100l in unilorin.
He sent me a message asking about a particular area in Ilorin because he is from Abeokuta and he needed to come around.
HOW WE MET
My wife had tried to remind me of how I approached to solicit her support in 2017 while I was contesting for the position of Unilorin Student Union President,

HOW WE MET
We have a mutual friend who spoke highly of me to him since 2018 but he was reluctant to collect my number from her due to the fact that we had the same surname ( I got to know that later)..
I’m happy that I have finally helped his life and loved him back because frankly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way because this, right here, with you, Opeyemi is exactly where I’m supposed to be.
HOW WE MET
It was in 2013 I think, when I attended a wedding party at Osogbo.
Being an introvert, my friends persuaded me to attend a wedding with them, I reluctantly accepted to go with them.
HOW WE MET
I got a Dm from him on the 15th of November, 2018 and the conversation went thus
Him: Good morning, I would need a red velvet cake to be delivered on a particular day, no design just plain.
Me: Good morning, okay, thank you for contacting us.
HOW WE MET
I'd live this whole life all over again just to met my husband again 💛
One morning in the month of March 2019 I was having dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps), it became so unbearable plus I was vomiting and all so I had to find my way to the hospital.
HOW WE MET
Let’s throw it back to how I spent 6 years in the university and never had an encounter with Adeoluwa, we even had mutual friends but our paths never crossed to the best of our knowledge.

Everytime I look at how my wife and I started, I just smile and say Alhamdulillah.
She went from saying I should not call her again to deciding to do forever with me.

I was sitting by the window side with my friend when I peeped through the window and saw this alluring and breathtaking girl standing outside with her friend .
I made a tweet in 2016 about being single and loving it and a friend of his mentioned him on the tweet. He followed me and sent me a dm and we got talking. It was interesting talking to him but I lived in Ijebu-ode while he lived in Lagos.
HOW WE MET.
So we met about 8 years ago in Unilag. I was in my 100 level and he was in his Final year.
Lol...I’m not a bad person but he was originally on my roommate’s case and on this faithful day I just decided to take a walk with my roomate and she introduced us...
HOW WE MET
He was a staff in my department and he was assigned to help us with our project.
I started noticing him around November 2020 and I always tell my project mates that I liked him and I’ll be his wife(jokingly) 😂
he was just another follower that always used to come and “Famz” me.
Opeyemi Replied my message with “I’m available for Cuffing , take me , tie me, Handcuff and Leg-cuff me😩” (Like you see on the receipt ,in case he wants to deny)
A week later, at a colleague’s child’s naming ceremony, we sat beside each other and had our first long conversation, talking about everything from family to work and other personal matters.
He asked me out on a date the following week.
HOW WE MET
I met my husband in 2015 when I had just entered a Nursing school.

HOW WE MET
We met on Instagram in 2017.
My former handle was an abbreviation of my name which read as Mobadgan so when this man entered my DM and said “Hello Mogoodgan”, I just rolled my eyes.
I responded sha and thank God I did.
HOW WE MET
Our journey is one I can ascribe to one of 2face's track that goes thus " You are the treasure that I seek, you were close to me yet i did not know".
I can’t really make out the date or day but we were mid way into the year 2015.

HOW WE MET
Our love story is not really common but one of the most amazing stories ever in our lives .
We both met on Instagram on 29th April 2020 which happened to be a day after my birthday.
HOW WE MET
This is a “We met on Twitter” story .
So ,I had been seeing him on my timeline for a while and on the 7th of May 2019, I needed to outsource one of my catering gigs to a reliable vendor as I had just resumed my 9-5.
If you meet my husband, he will “my wife” you to death 🤣🤣🤣
I’m so thankful that we are friends before anything else and I pray that it continues to be so.
Thank you for reading .
We got married last month and it’s been awesome.
Maybe after a while, when I’ve gathered experience, I’ll be back on Marital gists to give updates on how it’s going.
Thank you for reading our story .
HOW WE MET
It all happened on facebook.
On a boring day, I wanted to make new friends from my home town and I sent request to quite a number of people.
I started getting calls from random guys but they were not interesting to me.
I went down on a knee to ask to be my wife on September 21st, 2020 and just over a year later, on September 25th, 2021, we walked down the aisle saying “I Do” to forever!
Thank you for reading our story.
The plan was to get married after two years, which was supposed to be in 2022, but we postponed it due to some reasons and decided it would be the following year.
He proposed in October 2023, and we had our introduction/traditional wedding in November
My husband and I knew each other in 2017 when I was still in 200l in the university. He actually messaged me on WhatsApp wishing me a happy birthday as it was my birthday then and introduced himself to me. One thing led to the other and we started talking.
HOW WE MET
Sometimes back in 2013, a lady commented on one of my IG photos and we started following each other.
We used to only interact via each other’s photos.
He was awkwardly overtly excited for my birthday so I said this one this person is doing plenty notice me, Oya take my attention ,
you’ve been noticed 😁
When I even sent the message truly I just wanted to cruise, it was my birthday, the air was merry so I was nice to everyone. (If you like don’t believe me)
I eventually asked him to call meandaskmetobehis girlfriend officially, which he did 😂
HOW WE MET
He's an on-air personality whom I had a crush on, I love his voice, the way he casts news, the way he can smoothly switch from English to Yoruba without stress.
I used to listen to his music request show and I don't miss his thought-provoking program"Itan Rankpe".
But I noticed that anytime i post any picture (per fine girl na) or say anything, Opeyemi will come and like the picture and start hyping me up.
In my mind I’m like (Who is this one again? I no even know your papa)
So in 2017, Opeyemi sent me his ever first DM saying that I had ignored his message (Baba did not message me o, he just dey find talk)
So since then, we had been following each other on Twitter Hi and Hello type of friends.
But tell me why Opeyemi sent that message like 3 times, even went to his page and was “subbing” me like “Happy birthday Sandra” “SANDRA is so beautiful” “I like SANDRA” .
He didn’t mention me o, he was just talking to himself .
HOW WE MET
Both of us are baptists so there’s a fellowship(BSF) where we belong to the same association. We attend same meetings & he was part of our past executives while I was just an ordinary member so we were not part of the same circle but I see him from time to time.
HOW WE MET.
I was in my final year in 2015. A friend of mine told me about a cool headed man who was nice, God-fearing and humble who saw my picture on his phone and would like to meet me.
HOW WE MET
I met my husband through one of my closest friends who is also his friend.
Before I met him officially, she spoke about him couple of times but I never paid any attention, because I just got over a serious heart break and wasn’t ready to meet anyone.
In January 2020, I told him I was ready, and we started dating.
A lot of our colleagues didn’t even know we were dating until I left the job and they started seeing us at parties together. COVID tested our relationship, but we were able to scale through.
I decided to help the shy boy and I... ..sent him a dm saying “Are you trying to be married? Like get into something serious” ?
Mind you, this message was unprovoked, we had never had any conversation concerning marriage before or even dating sef,
HOW WE MET
So, I had gotten a message from a friend; Debola, he said he’d love to shoot his short film and he’d want me to be his Production Manager, I love to work, so why would I object?
HOW WE MET
We met on Twitter. We follow each other, I think it was through
#MuslimConnect
and I noticed that he used to engage my tweets and tell me how much he loves the way I tweet and also that he likes my Yoruba name.
He also dropped me off at home after work, and we spent time together chatting and sharing life experiences.
Note this was just friendship and nothing attached. I remember the first time we went to the beach; he wanted to hold my hand but kept restraining himself.
The rest they say, is History.
Opeyemi and I were coasting through this whole thing because I recall not even being able to define what I was feeling.
I know it wasn’t love, it couldn’t have been in that short period but I knew it was something special.
Some months later, he asked to meet my parents just to introduce himself.October 2022, he proposed to me. The perfect proposal, and of course I said YES🥰. November 2022, we had our Nikkah, july 2023, we traveled to Nigeria for our Walimah. That’s our January 2020 story to forever
HOW WE MET.
He came for dispense error at the bank where I worked in Ibadan and was attended to by a colleague, he noticed me and couldn’t talk because of the crowd I had in front of me.
Anyhoo, fast forward to April 25th 2020 which happened to be my birthday, I got a lot of birthday wishes from my followers on Twitter,
I also got one from Opeyemi (which was normal)
HOW WE MET
In January 2021, A good friend of mine, Omotolani, came to visit at the office and we had a long conversation about different things .
She asked about my relationship and I told her I had broken up with my then boyfriend and had been single for a while.
As soon as he mentioned his name, I knew he was a “Lagos boy,” so I asked where his wedding ring was, and he said, “I don’t have it yet.”
I thought he said, “I don’t have it here,” because in my mind, a good-looking guy with all those beards and hair should be married.
HOW WE MET
This is a “We met on Twitter” love Story and I might not have this story to tell if
#TheEbaForSahur
Vs Light Meal Sahur banter didn’t come to live during 2020 Ramadan.
How We Met
It's a little bit funny how I met her. We attended a secondary school together, but neither of us finished there.
She left after JSS 1 and I left after JSS 3. In the school, each class was split into four, and coincidentally we were in the same class in JSS 1.
HOW WE MET
We chatted for the first time while I was serving in National assembly in 2018. I have a friend from Lagos, Mummy Zahra, who was also a corper in the National Assembly. Her phone was faulty so she frequently used my phone to check her social media page.
HOW WE MET
It was a good day, I had a nice time out with my girls at the beach.
I later shared a beautiful picture of me on my WhatsApp status then one of my course mates reposted it.
He is very hardworking, and I am also proud of how much we have accomplished since we got together.
He recently told me, “You don’t know how much you have impacted my life and lit up my world since I met you.” I was just blushing.
I cherish the fact that He was so intentional about what he wanted. And he went for it
Thank you babe for everything , I love you very much❤.
Thanks for reading our story
HOW WE MET
I attended a party on the 28th of December, 2013. My family friends came to the house to pick me that we had a party to attend and we went.
2013 2020
HOW WE MET
I just recently got out of a relationship and also recently started my NYSC in Ibadan, 2014.
A friend saw how sad and distracted I was and decided to speak to her friend to hook me up with someone.
He picked me up, and we spent the evening eating out and watching movies until late at night before he dropped me off at my friend’s place.
After that, we started a routine of going out after work on Fridays or during the weekend.
HOW WE MET
Meeting my wife was a sacred meeting which was destined by Allah.
I met her through a friend at my workplace in 2019 but we had no conversation till December 2020.
She had this strictness in look which initially posed as hindering variable.
I asked if it was in the car or at home, and he repeated, “I don’t have it yet, but I should soon.” I asked if he had a fiancée or girlfriend, and he said, “something like that.”
Then the person introducing him pulled him away, and we all laughed about it.
HOW WE MET
We were Facebook Friends and that was it. We attended the same University, we never intentionally met or said hello all through our years in university, maybe we passed beside each other or were together in a gathering of friends,
HOW WE MET.
We met in one of the most unlikeliest ways.
Sometime in early 2006, I was bored at home and I thought to dial phone numbers close to mine.
So I changed the last digit and dialled the number after my number. Mine ends with 03 so I called 04.
HOW WE MET
“Hello Kids, here’s a story about how I met your mother”
This is how I imagine my story to my beautiful twins will be when they’re of age 😂.
Remember this couple that we shared their “How we met” story a while ago?
Today, they celebrate ten years in marital bliss and we are so happy for them. Happy anniversary to you two, may you continue to be happy and content
We totally love your vibes!
