A3: Be where they are. Tradeshows, social media, print advertising, even print marketing. Find them and be with them. Hang out where they hang out so you can chat and build relationships.

A1: Customer engagement to us is everything from networking, to making a sale, to following up after the sale and how that customer works with us in each stage. Some are very engaged, some aren't very engaged, but we try to keep them engaged at every stage.

A1: Soft skills are interpersonal and behavior skills such as communication and adaptability. I've worked with people who don't have good soft skills and they don't last in a company.

A6: No, plant tours, shadowing, presentations, job fairs, etc. can be done all year long. It's important to bring in students at an early age & as many as you can to expand the reach to possible manufacturing employee in the future.

A3: I'd say everyone who works in a company is responsible for taking part in improvement processes because they can happen (and should happen) in every department.

You all may have differing viewpoints about why brand positioning is important. For DSI/Dynamatic, we are the only company in the U.S. that uses eddy current technology in our equipment. It's a unique, but important position.

A5: As I said earlier, marketing is a great place to start. Tell people who you are and what you do in ways that build credibility. Case studies, reviews, and testimonials are GREAT for this. Do you all use these?

Great question! COVID taught me that I don't need what I thought I needed before. Life can be lived *with* and *on* less. It's a freeing concept!

A4) The buyer is in control - particularly with digital means, so they can find everything they need with a few clicks. Marketing can pay attention to these trends and sales can create efforts to go after those potential buyers.

A4: Yes! Example: We repair and refurbish old units often! We don't replace unless we absolutely have to. Our units last decades, too, so there isn't a high turnover of product.

I didn't want to leave you hanging too long on Q4. These are the 3 levels of brand positioning. They make sense, don't they? If you had a NEW brand to promote, think about all the things that go into positioning it in the market where it would exist!

A4: I said it before, but education. That's one of the main reasons we started a blog. We wanted a place where we could educate people about our technology and our industry. A blog seemed appropriate.

A2: Manufacturing leadership, as a whole, has been good at pivoting during uncertainty. But, leadership has been stressed and not putting mental health first in their organizations. I've talked to many who don't have a mental health program in place for employees.
