We are excited to announce the signing of Tyler Heffren from Eureka HS. Tyler averaged 21.8pts and 9 rebounds this year. He was named IBCA 1st Team All-State and AP All-State Honorable Mention. He finished his high school career with 1,834 points.2 time Macomb Holiday Tourney MVP

Coaching this team was a lot of fun this season. Great kids, basketball players and teammates. 21-8 is a great season. Very proud of our sophomores who leave us with a 44-17 overall record and a conference championship for their career at Sandburg.

It was great having former Charger Noah Young come in and speak to our team today!!! Noah finished his career at Sandburg with a 44-18 record and also helped lead us to a Region Championship game as well in 2020. Thank you Noah! ❤️

Excited to announce the signing of Larry Olivier Jr. from Rock Island HS. Larry averaged 10.7 ppg/c, 2.7 rebs, and 2.5 assists. Larry was named to the Rock Island Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament Team this season.

Had our first scrimmage games of the season today. After watching us play today, I know we have a great group that is fun to coach. It was great to see what we do well and where we need to improve. Excited to get back in the gym with our guys this week.

has 5 men’s basketball teams playing in the National Tournaments across D1, D2 and D3 with those 5 schools going 9-3 at the National Tournaments, so far. O, and 2 of the 3 losses were by 1 point each. There are no nights off in Region 4 MBB at any level.

Former Charger Brice Margenthaler helped the St. Louis University women’s basketball team to an amazing 14-5 record this season as a student manager! SLU won 2 postseason games in the NIT Tournament this season. Brice has a tremendous coaching future in front of him!

For Sandburg player Elias Akale (coming back from ACL surgery) averaged 2.3 points and 1 rebound in 3 games this season for University of Saint Mary. If people only knew how tough of a young man Elias is! He put a lot of time and effort to return this season...very happy for him
