The #StateWaterProject is working to move & store as much of the surplus water from these storms as possible & is making additional water available to its contractors (public agencies & local water districts) that have the ability to take delivery of the water in their own system

The #LakeOroville reservoir has made an astounding recovery thanks to atmospheric rivers that delivered heavy amounts of rain & snow to CA this winter. See the difference between 12/21/22, when the reservoir was at 29% capacity, to 7/3/23 with Lake Oroville at 99% capacity.

Although a relatively small spill is initially anticipated at Lake Oroville, the new spillway is fully operational and capable of handling much higher releases if needed. The #spillway was last used in April 2019 up to a flow of 25,000 cfs.
