So quite a few people spoke to me over the last few days when I mentioned why I stopped playing a few years back. So here is a little story as to what happened , when ( roughly) and how I find myself where I am now.

People asking how I got there and how can they get more? This is what I did.
-First, I set a goal and a time frame (200mph by April) then...
-implement what I knew
- reached out to experts
- worked my ar*e off
- missed 1 session in 3 months
I added 11mph in 3 months

Delighted to share the safe arrival of our second son. Lyle Xander Borrowman arrived this morning at 4.39am weighing 6lb 12. Both mum and Lyle doing great. ❤️

Well- Lofted down, got a little more aggressive- the result I had 6 putts for eagle......holed none of them 😂😂. Was nice to play competitive golf again but have some serious rust issues. Bludgeoned my way to -4 and T-5th overall. Well done

Working some lead leg force. Done no hitting for the last wee while (old wrist injury) but going to get back to it and post the progress/ work. Managed 192mph ball speed and 134mph club. No bad considering focus was technical and it wasn’t my driver 😎

A great drill for sequence and speed using the ground. I like to feel I’m pulling the handle up through impact by pushing my lead leg hard into the ground and away from the ball. Give it a go and see how you get on.

PB ball speed 202mph . Hit pretty early on in the session then the pursuit of 203 after. Was 0.1mph short , threw everything at it and came up short. The rage was real looking for less than 0.5% but had fun and pushed the needle. 205 by May 💪🏼

Broke my 2 iron ( hitting a shot no anger FYI) , forgot my 7 iron after warm up - 2 provisionals on the first hole ( made a birdie 😉) all equates to a rather dull -1 in my first round of competitive golf since 2019...... 🤣🤣

For those that say ‘you are just blessed with speed, you either have it or you don’t’. Here is an image from 2017 where I was at 113mph fast forward 3 and a bit years later comfy 135mph CHS and looking to break 200mph ball speed barrier by April.

My last blasting session of 2023:
Hit 200mph 6 times (progress) 1mph per month until May = 205mph 😃.
200.4 was the last swing - I tried to get 0.1 mph but it was nowhere to be found.

200mph again. Was aiming at 1mph per month but got a little nugget that helped and gave me 2/3 mph. AoA was getting too high and didn’t feel much force in my lead leg so played about with it and there it was. 205 next I promise 👍🏻.

There isn’t a ‘secret’ ( well there are a couple) to hitting the ball further or increasing CHS. It takes time, commitment, and doing the simple things well. Keep pushing your ceiling higher and higher if you want to improve ✌🏻

Key to hitting it longer is practice trying to hit it longer. Its relatively simple - move faster. Im going 2 start back at it again so I’d did a 10 ball average to give me a bench mark. 134.6 mph CHS 192mph ball speed. Maxed out 137 and 195. Goal =140mph and 200mph

This happened to me aged 16 at Renfrew golf club. First game, 6.30am had to wait around all day. Went shopping, fell asleep next to 18th green then ended up in a playoff- made a triple at the 1st playoff hole….good times

If you want to increase CHS on the course you need to keep pushing the ceiling higher and higher. I couldn’t play on a course swinging like this but it means when I play I can swing what feels comfortable at about 130mph. Last swing measured 138mph. Practice fast

Wee tubbs getting to 197mph today ( this was 196). Not hit a driver in a month all I have done is work out ( no emphasis on speed) just decent form with all lifts and reps in the 5-8 range max 40 mins . Body 💯 moving better. 205mph the goal with all standard equipment 👌🏻
