Been using my PS4 a bit at my parents' house and it really is hard to overstate how much worse the PS5 UI/UX are and how much faster and simpler it is to interface with almost everything on the PS4.
I plugged in my launch PS4 console to get some PT footage for Tom's video and it's like a weird little time capsule from 2016. This is what's still installed on it. Had to update firmware, though, and Madden 24 appeared lol.

There's a really fascinating anecdote in Atari 50 where someone talks about in the years after the crash people would go into stores and ask where all the Computer Games had gone. No one told the consumers the industry was in turmoil, they just wanted to play games still.
Stop calling it a video game crash. That implies that it's like some sort of uncontrollable force of the market. You can't have a crash (at least in the U.S.) when the market was up 4% yoy in 2023. That's the opposite of a crash! This is execs mimicking growth by cutting costs.
